Monday Mishmash 3/25/13

Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:

  1. Drafting  I'm between edits right now, which means I'm drafting like a mad woman. It feels amazing to be writing a new book.
  2. Lucky Leprechaun Giveaway Winner  Congrats to Natasha for winning the giveaway. Natasha, I'm mailing your hard cover copy of The Last Little Blue Envelope this morning.
  3. Easter  Anyone else feel like Easter crept up too quickly? I'm not ready.
  4. Cleaning  After the past two weeks of crazy editing deadlines, my house is looking... Um, let's just say I'm hoping no one drops by for a few days while I get things in order again.
  5. The Monster Within  The cover of my April 2014 YA paranormal The Monster Within (Spencer Hill Press) is currently being designed by the very talented Lisa Amowitz. I'm so excited to see it.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. Honestly, I can't believe Easter is this coming weekend. It's crazy how fast time moves, and it seems to move faster the older we get. Weird.

    Awesome about your new project!

  2. I have been cleaning my house for two weeks after months of construction dust. It feels good to be in somewhat order, but there are still a few more rooms to tackle! It'll be done just in time to go outside and start out there!

    1. Oh, I'm going to most likely have construction going on this summer. I'm looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time.

  3. I hear you about Easter. I too had to do some serious cleaning in my apartment last week. When I get working I don't really care where things are supposed to go.

    1. LOL. It's harder when you have a baby in your arms, Beth.

    2. But even when I don't, I'm not as fast as you!

  7. I want to have my carpets cleaned, but first I have to finish picking up X, Y & Z, and finish oiling my furniture... It could happen, eventually.

Trying to get through my backlog of books to review, and then (being stern with myself) get into a routine of read & review, before moving on to the next book.

  8. House cleaning must be contageous. Mine needs it desperately. This week, hopefully. It doesn't seem like Easter here. Too cold.

  9. I'm with you on Easter being here too soon. I'm not sure we're even going to get to dying eggs this year...
I can't wait to see your new cover either. I love cover reveals!

  11. Yeah, can't wait to see your new cover. This week I am knee deep in manuscripts. I'm also prepping some of my girl's old clothes and toys for a consignment sale. I live such a glamorous life.

  12. Busy lady! Yes, Easter comes very early this year, doesn't it? I am in the process of getting my novel ready. The cover designer is working on mine too. Can't wait to see it. And I'll be doing about five interior illustrations for it.

  13. Easter came at a bad time for me. :) I'm in the process of moving, so I haven't had time to get anything ready for Easter. I think we're going to wait and do a big egg hunt at the new house since we'll be there the weekend after Easter.

  14. Hi Kelly,
I did at least start some spring cleaning but won't get to decorate the house until mid-week. I've had a non stop schedule for the last 7-8 weeks, so am looking forward to a little break. I'm also going to try to employ your method of checking in on social media (from an earlier post).

  16. The great question is will Easter sunrise services and chocolate egg hunts take place in lots of snow? With any luck, yes.

    1. Hmmm, could be my internet, but the blog told me my comment was published... before I published THIS comment. So, if you have a blank comment from me above this one, I apologize. Don't know what happened. If you don't, HURRAY! Ignore me. :)

How exciting about your book cover. Cannot WAIT to see that one! All your covers are so awesome, it makes me shiver inside. :)

Happy Easter. Hope it's a lovely day for you. No snow. :) I'm hoping the same for all of us in Tahoe! :)

    2. No mysterious blank comment. Strange.

Aw, thank you. I love my covers. I'm lucky that my publishers make great covers.

      Happy Easter to you, too!

  18. Congrats on the drafting. Sounds like fun!

I agree with you that Easter came way faster than I was expecting.

    Good luck cleaning!

  19. Yes, I agree Easter has come quickly this year but I'm always glad for Easter. By the way, I'm having a luau over at my blog to celebrate Penniless Hearts. Stop on by for a cocktail (recipe) or just to dance the hula!

  20. 1) Easter, what? Looking for eggs with snow on the ground? So, so wrong.
    2) Revising. Tons of work to do but my story's really shaping up nicely.
    3) Sleep. Need more.
    4) Exercise. I'm ready to do some outside. Come on, warm weather!
    5) Playlists. Trying to get them ready for Camp NaNoWriMo.
