Monday Mishmash 1/28/13

Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:
  1. Love All Poll  Since my new novella, Love All, which just released last week, has a love triangle, I thought it would be fun to hear from readers and see if more people are Team Ash or Team Noah. So in my sidebar, you'll see a poll. And, yes, you can choose both guys if you find yourself torn between the two. You can even change your response if you change your mind as the series continues.
  2. Touch of Death Facebook Quiz  I'm working on a FB quiz for Touch of Death, so read up and get ready! More details soon.
  3. Seeking Pictures!  If you've bought one of my books, take a picture of you holding it. (Yes, ebooks totally count.) I want to post them on FB and my website. As a thank you, I'll send you SWAG.
  4. Buy Links  It took me long enough, but I finally got the Amazon buy now buttons on my website and right here in my sidebar. It was so easy I felt a little silly for not being able to figure it out without asking for help.
  5. Novellas  I'm really loving novellas right now. They're quick reads, so I can tear right through a lot in a short amount of time. With my schedule lately, that's a really good thing.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. I have got to set aside some time so I can read ToD. Maybe an editing reward. :)

  2. Lots of goodies for your readers there.

I'm revisiting my chapter plan. I now have a bigger backstory to my novel (well, the whole trilogy) so I'm working out how to add that to my novel.

    Have a great week.

    1. Good luck with your novel, Fi. I'm sure the story will be better for it.

  4. An FB quiz!??? What a great idea. Bet it's fun writing those questions. :)

  5. Writing the book 2 in a series is always a challenge for me. I have to consider what type of sequel it's going to be and I have yet to feel easy about it. You?

    1. I think I struggle more with book three, mostly because my series seem to usually end there and I don't want them to. LOL

  6. I just finished writing a novella but um afraid it sucks.

    1. Oh no! Let it sit and then go back to it to see how you can make it better.

  8. I couldn't find a way to edit the above for a typo, so I deleted it! :)
Reactions to Love Triangles can vary! I've known readers who love them and readers who hate them! Either way, getting a strong reaction to a book is probably a good thing!

    1. Yes, some people really can't stand them. They don't bother me at all, but then again I love conflict. ;)

  10. Novella's are perfect lunch break stories!

  11. I'm a fan of novellas too. It's sad, but it takes me forever to get through a book that's 400+ pages anymore.

    1. Sometimes I get so busy that reading a 400+ novel is tough for me, too. I tend to write novels around 80K which is under 300 pages.

  12. The Novella may be my favorite type, and I have read that this length is tailor-made for E-reading. I hope this spells a renaissance!

  13. I am finally caught up with my life, or as near as I can be. No more sick, no more travel for a while, and no more visitors. I started writing a new story and enjoying the moment. Will send picture from my TBR stack.

  14. I agree with Novella’s – granted I am not reading much right now. I know as soon as I have a new baby I will have reading time at 2am. Which is when I hope to catch up on the millions of books I have added to my kindle. I miss real books, but ebooks are easier to read these days. Have you had very different experiences with both publishers?

    1. Yes, I have. My editors are both great, but very different. Though they are working with different genres so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. No complaints, though. :)

  18. Haven't got to the novellas yet, but I've just taken up reading short story collections, for the same reason. If I'm tired, I can still knock over a story before passing out :)

  19. Look at all the fun things you have going on! I love quizzes. :) I haven't read a novella yet, but I have some on my list- so I better get reading!

  23. Isn't it annoying when spammers get past the filters?

A love triangle depends on the characters.

And if one of the trio happens to sparkle, which is strictly verboten.

    1. So annoying! I keep deleting them. Grr.

LOL. None of my characters sparkle. ;)
