2. Editing  I'm booked solid with client edits this month. 
3. Drafting  Lately, I've been drafting here and there when I can grab some time between edits. I was hoping to finish another book before the end of the year, but with my editing schedule, that may not happen.
4. My birthday  My birthday is on Friday. I'm never happy about getting older, mainly because my mental age doesn't match my physical age. I doubt it ever will. ;)

Here's what's on my mind today:

1. Lies We Tell Is Now Available!!!  It's release day! I couldn't be more excited for everyone to read this book. I have to say I really love writing for adults, and suspense is such a fun genre! Grab your copy here!

2. Revisions  I'm finishing up revisions on a book after changing the POV and the tense. I'm happy with the way it's transformed. I'll be sending it off to my editor later today.
3. Proofing It Was Always You  I'm doing a digital proofing round of It Was Always You, my Ashelyn Drake adult contemporary romance releasing in July. Then it's off to the printer so I can do a physical proof.
4. Drafting  I may start drafting a new book this week since I have a few days off between client edits. That is unless someone sees this and sends me a short edit to tackle. ;)
5. Monroe County Book Expo  I'll be signing copies of all of my Kelly and Ashelyn titles at the Monroe County Book Expo (held at the Hughes branch of the Eastern Monroe Public Library). If you live in or near Monroe County, PA, come see me. I'm having a half price sale on two Ashelyn titles!

1. Lies We Tell Has a New Cover!  Yes, I'm cover obsessed lately, but as much as I really liked the cover you saw during my cover reveal, I wanted something more. Uplifting Designs delivered and then some. I'm in love with this new cover! 
   
2. Girls' Day  My daughter has off from school today. Yay! We are having a girls' day!
3. Editing  Typical editing week here. I have a new edit arriving today.
4. Drafting  I'm working on a new Ashelyn Drake romance. I had to take a break for client edits, but I really need to get back to drafting a few thousand words a day on it. Wish me luck, please.
5. Jamberry Party!  I'm hosting a Jamberry party on Facebook this week. If you'd like to join, let me know and I'll add you to the group.

Here's what's on my mind today:

1. Fading Into the Shadows  I can't believe Fading Into the Shadows releases one week from today! Where did the time go?
2. Lies We Tell  My first adult mystery/suspense will release on April 10th. Sign-ups for the Cover Reveal, Release Week Social Media Blitz, and e-ARCs have all gone live. Feel free to click on any or all of these to sign up. :)
3. Editing  As usual, I'm editing for a client right now.
4. Final Proof  Lies We Tell is finally proofed and ready. E-ARCs will go out on February 8th, so make sure you sign up here if you'd like to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
5. Organizing  I organized my office this past weekend. My daughter and I somehow managed to get all my books (stock) into the appropriate boxes and in my closet. I also organized my bookshelves. I feel like I can be more productive now.

Here's what's on my mind today:

1. Back to Normal  I returned from my blogging break last Friday. Now it's back to my normal blogging schedule. While I missed the blog and all of you, it was nice to disconnect for a little while. I barely checked email or anything. 
2. Reading  I'm in the middle of three books at the moment. I haven't done that in a while. They all happen to be suspense novels too.
3. Revising  I'm revising my adult suspense so it's ready for my editor in September. I really love this book, and each time I read it, I get ideas for how to make it better.
4. After Loving You  I'm so close to having my Ashelyn Drake NA romance After Loving You ready for formatting. This book tugs on my heartstrings every time I read it.
5. National Ice Cream Day  According to my planner, yesterday was National Ice Cream Day. I may have indulged in some myself. ;)

1. Drafting  I'm trying to finish up the first draft of my Ashelyn Drake romantic suspense sequel before my daughter is home for Easter break.
2. School Visit  I'll be visiting Blairstown Elementary School on Thursday and doing three presentations. Wish me luck!
3. Out of the Ashes Releases Tomorrow!  Book two in the Into the Fire Trilogy comes out tomorrow! I'm a little excited. ;) Because of that, there will be no Writer Wednesday this week since I'll be posting on release day instead. 
   
4. Into the Fire Free Promotion Success!  I was so happy to see all the free downloads of Into the Fire last week during the free promotion. 
   
   
   
5. Easter  Hoppy Easter to all if I don't "see" you before then.

Writer Wednesday: Choices of a Hybrid Author

Let's face it. The publishing world is changing. I've been a hybrid author for a while now, releasing books both through self-publishing and through traditional publishing houses. Honestly, there are pros and cons to both, and I feel you have to do what is best for you and your book.

I decided to branch out into writing adult, because I'm not writing enough age groups already, right? ;) Well, when I sat down to do my taxes (Eek!) I realized my self-published Ashelyn Drake books tend to sell better than my traditionally published Ashelyn Drake books. Hmm… It could be the age levels affecting this. It could be a lot of things, actually. Oddly enough, Ashelyn Drake sells better on Barnes and Noble than Amazon, too. (Don't ask me how I feel about B&N doing away with the Nook. I'm still crying over that.) But I've decided that my first Ashelyn Drake adult titles will be self-published. 

You can ask my agent how I feel about self-publishing. It makes me crazy nervous. Even though I've done it before, I panic. Why? It's a LOT of work to self-publish. A LOT. But if sales are better, I think that work is worth it. Does this mean I'll self-publish all my adult titles? Nope. I'm a hybrid author and I don't see that changing, because like I said, there are pros and cons to self-publishing and traditional publishing. 

But I feel really good about self-publishing Lies We Tell. Did I just title drop? ;) Scared? Yes. But good at the same time. I'm weird like that. And since Lies We Tell is with my editor now, it might be coming your way sooner than anticipated.

1. Happy Release Day to Rick Starkey!  Blues Bones is officially out in the world today. I can't tell you how much I love this book. If you read middle grade or know any middle grade readers, check this one out.
   
2. Girls' Day!  My daughter is off from school today, so I'm spending the day with her. I love our girls' days.
3. Editing  I'm editing for clients again this week. I'm really lucky to have such amazing authors for clients. It makes my job so much fun.
4. Romantic Suspense  I started working on the sequel to my Ashelyn Drake romantic suspense. I have to say, I really like writing for adults.
5. Class Pictures  It's class picture day at my daughter's school tomorrow. I'll be helping out for part of the day. It's always fun to see the kids all dressed up.
