Monday Mishmash 2/18/13

Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:
  1. Presidents Day  Happy Presidents Day! My daughter and husband are both home for the holiday.
  2. Taxes  We're getting our taxes done this morning. I hate sitting through this, but the refund is always nice.
  3. New SUV  We're picking up my husband's new Escape this afternoon. Hopefully, I'll like driving this better than his previous vehicle, which felt like a bus to me.
  4. New WIP  Yes, I'm still plotting this book. I keep getting snippets of dialogue instead of an overall plot ARC. Very strange, but I'm very "go with the flow" when it comes to plotting.
  5. Love All Reading  I decided to make a video of me reading the opening of Love All, my YA romance novella. If you haven't seen it, you can check it out below. And Love All is still only $1.29 on Kindle and Nook.

That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  6. Enjoy the time off. I, unfortunately, have to work today!

I will secretly sit at my computer and compile a blog post. :)

  7. I'm working today because my baby-sitter was available...although the hubby is home, making lots of noise working on the attic. It's going to be my new office when it's finished, so I'm not complaining about the racket!

  8. I love your video blogs! I wish I had the nerve to do one. Maybe I'll give it a try when I get my ARC of PODs, but it will probably come out in my supersonic crying voice because I'm sure to cry. I cried when I got my PDF galley (big baby, I know).

Just bought your Novella--can't wait to read it. :)

    1. Michelle, I made a crying video when I held my Touch of Death ARC. I think it's mandatory. ;)

Thanks for buying Love All. I hope you enjoy it. :)

  9. Sounds like a fun day. My hubby does our taxes so it's painless for me, but the return is a mutually enjoyable event. :)

  14. I tried a novel once when I didn't have a detailed plot outlined, and I got lost in the middle. It's the only ms I never finished. Now, even though plotting can take months, it's a worthwhile effort for me.
Congrats on the day off, the new car and the video book-reading! :-)

    1. Thanks, Lexa. Plotting is always different for me. I just go with it. This appears to be a book that will have a lot of dialogue clips in my plotting. That's fine with me. I'll adapt.

    1. Sheri, we don't do them ourselves. I couldn't handle that. We had them done this morning and it was painless. Thankfully!

  16. My husband drives an Escape and thinks his next vehicle may be another Escape. He loves it. I find it a little truck-like but not too much so. It's a nice size. Happy President's Day. I'll check out Love All.

    1. My husband keeps cringing because I said the Escape is adorable. He's upset because he wants a manly car. Oh well. It's cute. I can't help it.

I hope you enjoy Love All. :)

  17. Have a good day!

We've got the day off north of the border (in some provinces) for a totally fake holiday they created called Family Day.

  20. President's Day? That's a new one on me!! Don't think anyone here in GB knows about it.Do you all go round pretending to be President? What do you eat? Presidential food? Hahaha. We do our taxes in January. Horrid job. This year, the refund they owed me was exactly the same as the extra tax my husband owed them! Such is life.

    1. Well, at least you came out even, right? President's Day means lots of sales and no school. They used to do more, but it seems like every year the holiday is downsized.

  21. I banged out the last 9000 words in my WIP and typed THE END on the manuscript yesterday (Monday). That felt really good!

    Enjoy your new car!

  22. President's Day meant I didn't catch up with your Monday until Tuesday- but it's always lovely to see you reading.

  23. Loved the video. I was on the road ( a constant theme in my life) on Monday. I was visiting family in Souther California this weekend and sadly, the only writing I did was notes on my current character's love interest. Love my new story and anxious to finish it. Congrats to your husband... nothing better than new car smell for those of us wierdos who like new cars.
