Monday Mishmash 7/15/13

Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:
  1. Kindle Fire and Book Giveaway  I'm part of the team of authors and bloggers joining forces to give away a Kindle Fire and some great books. If you want to enter, check out Brandi's blog.
  2. New Blog Schedule This Fall  Last week I realized that my blog is booking up with author promotions. I've been getting lots of requests for author spotlights, and while I'm happy to promote others, I miss my writing posts. So in the fall, I'll be designating Fridays to promotion and Wednesday to posts about writing. I think it will be a good balance.
  3. My Pool  After waiting an insane amount of time for our pool to be delivered (over a month!) it's finally up and just in time for this week's heat wave.
  4. Price Reduction  My latest picture book, Melinda's Museum Magic is now only $8.42 on Amazon! I hope you'll check it out.
  5. Harvesters Trailer Reveal  I'm participating in the trailer reveal for Harvesters:

When she finds her boyfriend shackled to a white metal table Ashley feared for the worse.

On a small trip of dropping off a package for Jason’s father, the young couple never thought they would be running for their lives. Running away from supposedly friends whom in turned to be a family of harvesters.

Human harvesters and they are looking for something specific. And Ashley just might be the perfect match for that something.

That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  5. Hey Kelly,
You're up to good stuff as usual. The pool will be so much fun and a great way to take a break during your busy writing and editing schedule. I took a trip last week to visit Seattle and the coast of Washington. It was great fun and I laughed so much with my godchildren. We all need periodic breaks.

  8. I like your blog schedule. I know you'll enjoy your pool, and who knows, a moment of inspiration may come to you right in the middle of swimming laps! Water does that to you, sometimes. LOL

  16. At some point you do have to get back to your own stuff. You're going to love your pool this summer! We had ours installed in 2004, and I swear it's been a savior to these hot summer days AND nights.

  19. Interesting cover. Sort of spooky.

And a pool sounds perfect. Wish I'd had one for our 100+ days. :)

  20. Holy cannoli! The part w/the bodies in the trailer- was not expecting that level of gruesome! The Harvesters might be too scary for me. Course, I've covered my eyes in Disney movies... =) Enjoy your pool!

  22. Great giveaway. I've tweeted and followed. Fingers crossed. Will be lovely to read more writing posts from you.

This week, I'm just getting on with my novel again (on top of preparing for the beginning of school summer holidays -argh!). After one very positive and constructive professional critique, I'm now waiting on the opening of my novel appearing in Writers Magazine to be critiqued by them. Fingers crossed they don't slaughter me.
