Monday Mishmash 10/14/13

Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:
  1. Columbus Day  My daughter is off from school today, so we are heading to my parents' house for the day. Looking forward to it.
  2. Free Horror Short Story  I'm working on another free horror short story for you all. I'm hoping to get it up on Amazon soon. I love being able to give something back to fans like this to show my appreciation. :)
  3. Pumpkin Picking  We went to a birthday party at a farm and got to pick pumpkins, take a hayride, and go on carnival rides. It was so much fun. Oh, and there were animals to pet and a hay maze. I love this time of year.
  4. Books, books, books  I've read a lot of books lately and I realized I'm terrible at keeping up with Goodreads. I always forget to update the books I'm reading. *sigh*
  5. Zombie Blogfest  Beth Fred and I are hosting a zombie blogfest. Post about your favorite zombie movie, zombie book, zombie TV series, or share some cool zombie pics. As long as it's zombies, you're good. What's in it for you? How about a FREE story. Plus, US residents can also be entered for a chance to win some zombie limb candy and a signed copy of Touch of Death. (Sorry but international mailing is expensive and mailing candy internationally isn't always allowed.) Want to join us? Sign up in the Linky below.

That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. I'm loving Columbus Day! I have off from work so I will be enjoying a day of writing, exploration and of course, cleaning!
I haven't had the chance to go pumpkin picking yet, but we went apple picking a couple of weeks ago which was fantastic.
You reminded me about setting up a Goodreads for my adult branding, Kelly. I keep pushing it off but I need to start getting reviews up. It's sometimes so hard to balance my two genres in writing and I always feel like there is something I forgot to do!
Enjoy your day with your daughter and parents. I spent the day with my mom yesterday and we had a blast! Happy Monday!

  4. There is just so much to love about fall. The weather, the smells, the food, everything. Now if Texas would just decide to give up summer so we could enjoy some fall weather. :)

  10. The party sounds like so much fun. And I'm with you on Good Reads. I forget to post and it always shows I added the book the same day I finished reading it. Oh well.
Happy fall. This is my favorite season. Zombies, not so much. Some aren't too bad.

  12. Wow what a busy week you're having. I seem to be running to keep up with my writing schedule at the moment due to home life. Did attend an exhibition at the weekend of games (computer, nintendo, arcade, retro) which was interesting. My kids loved it. Working on a new chapter in my book.

    1. Carol, I can't find the FB invite for your launch party. I checked. Admittedly, I'm awful with FB. I don't understand the set up, other than post or reply. lol

  15. I often wonder now why I never cooked any of the many pumpkins we used to pick and bring back from pumpkin patches when my kid were little. Enjoy these precious sojourns, Kelly.

  16. When I lived up north we had Columbus Day off. In Florida we have to go to school.

I usually write a review right after I read a book. I made it a habit. This wasn't always the case.
