Monday Mishmash 6/23/14

Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:
  1. Construction  I stayed at my parents' house for four days to avoid the construction here. It was a glorious, stress-free break but I'm home again now. Please tell me this construction can't last forever.
  2. Limited internet access  I will most likely not have internet for most of today and maybe tomorrow because of the construction. I'll have to catch up on responding to comments once it's back on.
  3. Curse of the Granville Fortune  I'm working on final proofreading for my MG fantasy, Curse of the Granville Fortune this week. Let's see if I can get this done with all the craziness over here.
  4. Client edit  I'm also working on a client edit this week. I may have to spend a lot of time outdoors to get this accomplished. The inside of my house is a nightmare.
  5. Swimming  This is how I'm staying sane this summer. I escape to the pool when I get really stressed. I wouldn't survive without it.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. Just think of the lovely, improved home you'll have when it's finished.

I'm still working on my novel. Have a great week.

  2. I understand the trouble you're going through with the construction. I'm currenly moving and it looks like there's no end to the cleaning and boxes. Just escaped to a coffee shop to update my blog and read yours and a few others ;-)

  3. I love swimming. It is one of the best ways to clear our minds and get in some great exercise!
I hope your construction ends soon, Kelly. Good luck with your edits. I'm trying to work on some of my own edits as well as a couple of ideas for some new picture books. Busy, busy, busy!

  4. Constuction's the worst, but keep your eye on the prize of a fabulous house afterward. Good luck!

This week, my youngest is at a four-day lacrosse camp, so I am doing a writing marathon. Taking a quick break here to see what's up with everyone. Okay, back to work!

  5. Hope the construction ends soon.

I miss swimming. I haven't been in age, despite the fact that I live a train ride away from Coney Island. I haven't been to a pool in like 2 years. Used to go every year before I moved away from home.

    1. Thank, Auden. I mostly float. ;) I'm too lazy to swim.

  6. I'm the same with swimming--a pool is the one place I can completely forget everything!

  7. I escaped to my pool last evening and it was sweeeeeet!

By the way, I use Blogger and nobody's blog posts are showing up in my blogger feed with the exception of the last person (of those I follow) who posted. Blogger is aware of this issue, so beware all!

  9. A pool is a great way to work off stress.

As Diane says, I've had the same issue- I've been working my way through each alphabetically as I go along. Google Blogger is apparently working on it.

    1. I never use that to follow blogs. lol I just go off of posts on Book Blogs or She Writes, or I click on people's names when they comment here.

  10. I use bloglovin and networked blogs to follow the ones I care about. That way I don't miss them.

Construction is not fun while they are "constructing", but afterwards the pain passes, and everything is wonderful. Someday, you may need a scene where the house is torn apart, and you'll know exactly how to frame it, Kelly. Hey, could that count as a tax deduction then?LOL

  11. I love swimming! Though I'm always so tired and hungry afterwards. Any calories I might have managed to burn off I just gobble back up, ha!
