Monday Mishmash 6/30/14

Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:

  1. Construction  *Sigh* I knew this was going to be bad, but ugh. I can't wait until July is over so this construction will be finished. Still no roof, which means lots of rain damage. :(
  2. July  How is it almost July already? I mean seriously? Where did June go?
  3. Editing  Amidst the craziness in my house, I'm editing for clients this week. It's keeping me sane.
  4. Books heading to production  I recently had three titles to proofread and get ready for production. So exciting!
  5. Touch of Death Series  Last week, Stalked by Death became a #1 best seller in Teen & Young Adult Greek and Roman Myths, and Touch of Death was the #3 best seller in the same category! Needless to say, I was thrilled! Thank you to all who bought copies.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. Sounds like another busy week for you. I'm working on a new chapter for my novel. A lot of the current draft is just improving what was in the last draft (with some rearranging) but what happens in this chapter has never been written before. I have my chapter plan worked out. Just need to write it (today).

  3. OMG, they don't have it covered? Even with several tarps? So sorry to hear. However, congrats on the Best Sellers! :)

    1. Well there are tarps but they're no match for the rain.

  4. I'm not sure if my last comment went through, Kelly, but sending a HUGE congrats for your best sellers! I'm so happy for you and you should be quite proud of this accomplishment!
I'm still waiting for my summer schedule to kick in. Normally, I have more time to read and write but sadly, this just isn't happening yet. Ugh... oh well, Happy Monday!

    1. I always have less time to read and write in the summer because my daughter and husband are home more. Not complaining about having them home though.

  5. Congratulations on the ranking!

And I know exactly where June went. I spent a ridiculous amount of it teaching, thanks to a bunch of snow days and the a school year calendar that already had us teaching too far into June before we tacked on extra days.

Summer only started for me in the middle of last week.

  14. Congrats on the first place! I hope the construction will be over soon.

I'm doing some small freelancing gigs. And I've just heard that my Dad's dog died. :(

Good luck with the freelance gigs. I just read your blog post and saw that about your dad's dog. I'm so sorry. Losing a pet is never easy.

  15. Good for you on the series, Kelly!

  16. Well, it only started. But July will be over, like everything else. Construction and re-modeling is one of the big stressors on life's stressful events scale. You are lucky to have a lot to do so you can think of other things...

  17. I can't believe it's July already, too. Half the year is already gone. I keep asking what happened to it. lol Congrats on your two books making it into the top 3 ranking best sellers. That's awesome!! :D

  20. Congrats on the sales.

Writing and editing keep me sane many times when I need to forget what's going on around me.

I once lived in a house with a horrible roof and numerous repairs. It was a nightmare.

    1. That sounds like my house. Lol Although most of the repairs are now because of the roof being off.
