Monday Mishmash 11/17/14

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Horrible Internet Connection  My internet has only been working when it feels like it, so getting online has been sporadic at best. If you are waiting to hear from me, I apologize. I'm trying to get this fixed today, but you know how that goes with phone companies. If I'm delayed in responding to comments or commenting on your blog, you know why.
  2. January Feature on Megan McDade's Blog  The very awesome Megan McDade is going to feature me on her blog in January and is asking people to comment on her post right now with questions you'd like me to answer. So I'd love it if you dropped by Megan's blog to leave me a question. You can find her blog here.
  3. Editing  I finished a revision on my latest Ashelyn Drake manuscript, so I'm back in editing mode and working on client edits this week.
  4. Remodeling  We finally finished painting the addition we put on the house. The countertop people are coming Tuesday (after canceling on us last week). Next up is flooring upstairs. We're getting close!
  5. Catching Up on My Reading  I'm all caught up on reading the books I promised to review. Yay! Most recently, I finished An Absence of Light by Meradeth Houston and Rite of Rejection by Sarah Negovetich. Both were amazing!
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. I'm still writing the first draft of my second novel via NaNoWriMo. About to start the final lookover of my first novel before submitting it for a manuscript assessment. Apart from that, preparing for Christmas which is scarily close now.

  2. I have to catch up on my word count for my NF book for NaNoFiWriMo. And I have a short story idea brewing inspired by my own clumsiness of hurting my foot 3x this weekend.

  3. Good luck with the internet people (that's got to be frustrating!) and the rest of your remodeling! And thanks a million for your review!!! :)

  4. Me,too, catching up on reading. I don't know if that's truly possible, but I have a book for the plane journey home. But there is writing ... what to do!? I feel your pain re: the internet. We're junkies..

  5. Whenever I have issues with the internet, it drives me crazy! Almost as crazy as remodeling. Good luck, Kelly! This week, I'm finishing a novel in another genre up. It's been freeing and tons of fun to write something completely different. Have a great week!

  7. My internet is buggy too. But I'm pretty sure we're not on the same system. Good luck with your tasks for the week.

  10. What would we do without the internet? It's a godsend except when it's not. Hope it starts being reliabl for you, but if not, you have a great reason to catchup on your reading. Have a good week, Kelly.

  11. Congrats on getting close to finishing up the house, Kelly! I'm sure that is a weight off your shoulder.
I hate when our internet goes down. Doesn't happen often but it's a real pain when it does.
I'm also catching up on my reading. I have so many books on my TBR but I am currently reading Quanie's The New Mrs. Collins and I love it so far!

    1. Yeah, it's finally starting to come together. The guy is here now measuring for my countertop. It will be nice to have my kitchen back in a few weeks.

      Yay for enjoying Quanie's book!
