Monday Mishmash 12/14/15

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Editing  I have a client edit and an edit for Leap to work on this week. I think I'll be getting edits on Up in Flames as well very soon. Eek!
  2. Countdown to Christmas Giveaways!  I'll be counting down the last five days to Christmas by hosting a giveaway a day. Check my Instagram for more info.
  3. Reading  I've been forcing more reading time into my schedule. Yes, forcing. It's tough to find time to read for pleasure when you are constantly reading for your job. I'm doing it though. lol
  4. Writing Fever  I've been editing a lot lately, and while I love editing, I miss writing. I was driving home last Friday and all I could think about was drafting. I really want to get back to my adult thriller that I've had to put aside several times now.
  5. Into the Fire SWAG  I'm getting my SWAG together for the Into the Fire series, which will release in its entirety in February and March 2016! I'm so excited. I may have gotten some Bird on Fire Jamberry nail wraps for SWAG as well. ;)
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. Ooh, Jamberry for SWAG? Nice! =) I hope you can fit in some writing time soon.

  2. I get you, after I started ghostwriting I noticed my reading going way down. It just seems that sometimes when your job and leisure become similar the latter ends up falling by the wayside. Glad to see you pushing through. Be glad you love editing, it is usually a writing pet peeve so I am happy for you there. Maybe one day I'll hire you myself. ;)

    1. Yes, I do love to edit. Especially when the book I'm editing is a genre I love.

  3. I've got a whole bunch of things going on at present, so my reading's really gone on the backburner for awhile.

    1. It happens. Other things have to take priority sometimes.

  7. Reading is on my list too just as soon as school is out. Writing is going slow, though, so I know how you must feel with all you have on your plate. Hope you get more time for it whn the edits are done.

    1. Thanks, Sherry. I'm looking forward to editing the book you're now a character in. :)

  8. Good luck with all your edits. Finding time to read just for fun seems to get harder every day. I think the days are shrinking time wise. Great sway ideas. I must start thinking about that for my forthcoming book. Have a great week.

  9. I feel like I'm immersed in words all day. I read for pleasure, teach reading and writing, and I'm a writer. All that editing sounds tough, though.

    1. It can be at times, but I do get to edit some great books and that helps. :)

  10. I have to carve out time for more reading too. Looking forward to finding out about the giveaways.

After 2 no's from literary agents, I'm waiting on hearing from the third I submitted to. If I don't hear by the first week January, then I'll contact them but also send out my manuscript to some more agents too. In the meantime, I'm juggling working on a script with preparing for Christmas.

    Have a great week.

    1. It's good you're querying small groups. Very smart. :)

  11. I've found with my freelance writing that I have to force myself to write for ME every day! I set a goal of 250 words a day at least, but I've known people who set a minimum of 100 words a day for 100 days and try not to break the chain. You'd be surprised how easy it is to set aside 10 minutes or so to write 100 words or more, even when you're on vacation!

    1. I like that idea. I'm a binge writer though. I need to lose myself in my WIP and think of nothing else for a few hours at a time.

  12. FIRE is the operative word this Monday Mishmash... Just don't burn so you can come back for Wednesday's Wisdom...

  13. I enjoy rewriting. Does that mean I'd make a great editor?
