Monday Mishmash 8/15/16

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. After Loving You Cover Reveal Sign-up  In case you missed it last week and would like to participate, sign-ups are still open for the cover reveal of After Loving You, my Ashelyn Drake NA romance. This is a social media cover reveal, so you don't need a blog to participate. Just post to any social media outlet between August 26-28. It's that easy! Sign up here.
  2. Revising  I'm revising a book I haven't looked at in well over a year. Now that's what I call fresh eyes after time away! I love having multiple drafts on my flash drive that I can return to much later like this.
  3. Getting Organized  I'm trying to get organized for my upcoming releases, which means I'm breaking out the cork board and Post-it notes. :) Yes, this makes me happy.
  4. Humidity  The humidity where I live has been well over 90%, so you can imagine how awful and unproductive it's made me feel. I can't wait for the weather to break. I'm a fall/spring girl at heart.
  5. Back-to-School Countdown  I'm one of those parents who dreads the first day of school. My daughter has two weeks of summer break left, and I miss her already. :(
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. This heat is just about to kill me. When I was younger I loved summer (no school, duh). I'm counting down to school as well but for different reasons because I'm enjoying the short quietness I currently have as my kids are visiting their grandma. Good luck with your revising and upcoming releases. And stay cool! :-D

    2. I hate the cold too. It's like I'm Goldilocks. I like it best when the weather is just right.

  5. It is fun looking at those older stories. I've been working on a couple that I started a long time ago.
Yes, the beginning of school is hard for the mom, probably more so than for the child. I remember. Have a good week.

    1. I cry every year. She never cries. LOL She loves being with her friends and learning new things.

  6. I'll sign up now. Gotta help my girl promote her cover. ;)
I still love summer but the heat in Jamaica over the last couple of years has gotten ridiculous. Stop roasting the locals! Yup revisiting that good old book for revision can be quite a treat. Sometimes it's like you are the reader instead of the writer. Did I really write this? Look at scene. Oh wait. Enjoy your time with your daughter before school starts and give her lots of hugs.

    1. Aw, thank you!

Yes, that "did I really write this?" feeling happens a lot because I put so much time between drafting and revising. I love it.

  8. Is the revising the same book you felt was your favorite? I'm really looking forward to that one... Going back to working on older stories after some time had passed is always a surprise. It's wonderful when it's a good one, in a good way, in all the right places.
That's about where I am, also, this month. Re-visiting old writing and revising with new beta's feedback.

    1. It's actually the sequel. I like to revise books in series (and in this case sequels) back-to-back to make sure there are no inconsistencies between the books. I do love this book too. :)
