Monday Mishmash 11/28/11

Happy Monday! Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Book signing  I have a signing this Saturday from 2-4pm at Panera Bread in Stroudsburg, PA. I'll be signing all three of my picture books.
  2. Long weekends  I got a lot of reading done over the long weekend. I finished two books and started two more. That's a good weekend in my book. (Oh, bad pun!)
  3. Two websites  I felt funny having one website for such an array of books, so I decided to break my publications in two. One site for children's picture books and short stories and one site for YA and MG books. More on this on Wednesday.
  4. A huge To-Do List  Ugh. My daily planner is full. I can't seem to keep up lately, mostly because I choose writing over the other things on my list.
  5. Revisions  I'm revising a manuscript that has sat for months. It's amazing what that much time away will do. I definitely have fresh eyes on it.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  2. A book signing!! That's awesome news, Kelly. And congratulations on starting the new blog. What an accomplishment to have enough work for both age groups. Well done! -- Girlparker

  3. Girlparker, well, I'm still working on this age group, but I'm hopeful. :)

  4. Congrats on the new blog. Looks great. Good idea to separate a space for MG/ YA.

My main task for the next few days is proofreading revisions for my sci fi novel, Green Light Delivery. Publisher expects them by the end of the week. Scary!

Have fun at Panera. Great idea to do a signing at a place like that.

  5. Anne, good luck with proofreading! I'm glad you like my new blog. It was definitely time to do this.

  6. I like this new blog, Kelly. (I'm one of your "older" readers ... teehee.) Enjoy your book signing.

"I choose writing over the other things on my list" =) Nice!

For me, I'm about to hop over to WR to check out the new guest workshop.

  8. Claudine, I'm glad you like it. And you're not one of my older readers. You are one of my very appreciated readers. I'm always happy to "see" you.

  10. I'm am psychotic about blogs, lol.
I rearrange mine all the time, but I try to do it subtly so people don't think they've stumbled onto the wrong blog. I design for friends, I begged my writerly people to let me do our group blog, I HAVE to make covers for my books . . . It's what I do when I hit a pause point while writing.

Have fun in the new look :D

  11. Jolene, had I known that, I would've asked for your help. ;) I figure I'm just starting so the changes are to be expected. They don't let you try them out before you publish the blog. I think I'm sticking with this one though.

  12. I see you just started your Blog! Congratuations! It is so much fun (but at times like a second job) I will be sure to follow your progress!

  13. Thanks, Deanna! It's my second blog. I have another on my website, but here I'm focusing strictly on YA & MG. It does take a lot of time, especially now that I have two.

  14. I like the new blog. :)

Huge to-do lists...they can be overwhelming or inspiring.

Yay for reading. I wasn't able to do much reading last weekend, so I hope to catch up this weekend.

  15. Thanks, Medeia. Yes, to-do lists are great but also intimidating. I hope you get some extra reading time in this week. :)

  16. Yes, the advantages of letting work cool can hardly be overstated.

I like how you write instead of doing your to-do list. :) So many insist they want to write, yet do anything but.

  17. Marcia, my problem is that I let other things slide in order to write. I never do laundry over writing. I squeeze that in when I know I can't write because I have other things going on. During my writing time, I write. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
