Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Tormented Souls  If you weren't able to check out the cover of my Runes Universe book, Tormented Souls, here it is!

  2. Writing Conference  I attended the Pocono Writer's Conference on Saturday. I always enjoy this conference.
  3. Revising  I'm revising my psychic mystery before I send it off to my editor. I'm excited for this book because it combines supernatural and mystery, two of my favorite things.
  4. Editing  I'm editing for a client this week.

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Lies We Tell  I'm getting really excited for my April release, Lies We Tell. Just a reminder or in case you missed it: If you'd like to help me get ready for this release, you can sign up for the cover reveal, release week blitz, and/or to receive an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Huge thank you to all who have already signed up! :)
  2. Pocono Writers Conference  This past Saturday, I attended the Pocono Writers Conference. I had a great time and even won a book with a title very similar to my upcoming release:
  3. Editing  As always, I'm editing for a client this week.
  4. Scholastic Book Fair  I'll be helping out with the Scholastic Book Fair at my daughter's school this week. You know that means I'll be buying books, books, and more books!
  5. Revision  At the writers conference, Megan Hart gave me some great advice for my psychic mystery, so I'll be working on revisions soon.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  5. Sending My YA to My Editor  Today, I'm sending my YA, Unseen Evil, to my editor. This book will be released in October.

Monday Mishmash 1/11/16

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Blues Bones Cover Reveal Signups  Signups are now open for the cover reveal for Blues Bones by Rick Starkey. This is the first book I acquired through Leap Books Seek and it's amazing. You can sign up here
  2. Curse of the Granville Fortune Cover Reveal  I'll be revealing the NEW cover of Curse of the Granville Fortune on Friday right here on my blog. Stay tuned!
  3. Editing  I'm editing for Leap Books Seek and my own clients this week. Last week I posted that I have a lot of edits on my plate and jokingly asked people on FB to send me dark chocolate, and the very sweet Beth Consugar showed up at the Pocono Writers Conference with dark chocolate for me. :) How nice is that?
  4. Pocono Writers Conference  I had a great time at the conference yesterday and I got to meet Megan Erickson, a fellow Corvisiero Literary Agency author, and Veronica Park, a Corvisiero Literary Agent. I also bought one of Megan's books.
Megan Erickson and me with her book Make It Count

Megan Erickson, Veronica Park, and me (Veronica was talking when the picture was snapped, but all three pictures we took came out exactly the same. Sorry, Veronica! You still look lovely.)
  5. Big Announcement!  If you are a newsletter subscriber, you will hear my big announcement today, and if you are a Kelly's Coven member, you heard the announcement last week. Everyone else will hear it on Wednesday right here. Come back to find out the big news!
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

Monday Mishmash 3/30/15

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Drafting  I'm 60K into my WIP, so that means I'll be finishing the draft this week. Yay! My street team, Kelly's Coven, also helped me decide on a title for this book, which I'm very grateful for.
  2. Different Blog Schedule This Week  The YA Scavenger Hunt is this Thursday, so that means my blog schedule will be a little off. I will still be posting my Writer Wednesday, but since the YA Scavenger Hunt needs to stay up as my main post for a few days, I will not be posting a Friday Feature this week. Make sure you stop by to join in the scavenger hunt fun and enter to win a bunch of amazing prizes.
  3. Editing  I have some openings in my editing schedule, which is rare. So if you have anything you need edited, feel free to contact me (khashway@hotmail.com) and we can discuss what you need and get your scheduled.
  4. Beta Reading  I'll also be working on a beta read for a writer friend this week. :) I always enjoy beta reading, but I've have limited time for it this year.
  5. Conventions/Conferences  I'm really bummed that I have no conventions planned. I won't be at BEA this year. :( I'm SO sad about that. I'm trying to figure out if there's another convention I can get to instead. Any suggestions? I'd love to do one where I can also sign my books.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

Monday Mishmash 1/13/14

Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:
  1. The Monster Within  The release date for The Monster Within is being pushed back until June 17. I'm actually really happy about this because it allows me to get the Touch of Death series out first, including the novella from Alex's POV, and I'll get to sign The Monster Within at BEA! Yay!
  2. Blurbing books  I was asked to blurb a really awesome book called Losing Logan by Sherry Ficklin. It's SOOOOO good, guys. I couldn't put it down. Seriously. Just awesome.
  3. School Visits  I'm heading back to my daughter's school today to work with a fourth grade class on the stories they are writing. How cool is that? I'm excited.
  4. Editing  I'll be editing for a new client this week, but in order to stay true to my 2014 goals, I'll also be working on the plot of a new book of my own.
  5. Zombie Prom at Arisia  I'll be heading to Boston on Sunday for another zombie prom at Arisia to celebrate the upcoming launch of Face of Death. Can I just tell you how much Face of Death makes me cry every time I read it? I really love those characters and wrapping up their series was tough.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

Monday Mishmash 4/30/12

Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:

  1. I'm allergic to bunnies  Who knew? But when I went on my daughter's field trip to a farm and they brought out the bunny, my eyes teared so bad it looked like I was crying.
  2. Editing  Last week was the week of edits and critiques. I had virtually no time for my own writing. This week, I'm making time for my new WIP. No. Matter. What.
  3. Review  My picture book, MAY THE BEST DOG WIN, was reviewed over on Fairday Morrow's blog last Friday. You can find it here.
  4. Blogger's working again!  Yay! The issues with the new Blogger dashboard seem to be fixed. I'm so happy about that.
  5. Secret formula  Laurie Halse Anderson gave out a secret at the Pocono Retreat two weeks ago. She said for every 10 hours of writing, you should have 5 hours of reading and 1 hour of on-line time. Do you fit that formula?

Monday Mishmash 4/23/12

Happy Monday! Here's what's on my mind:

  1. Pocono Retreat  I spent the weekend at my regional SCBWI conference, and as usual I learned a lot. I also got to meet my agency sister, Diane Alberts, which was so great! And did I mention I met and shook hands with Laurie Halse Anderson? :D
  2. New New story idea  No, that's not a typo. I was already working on a new story idea when another new idea came to me. I'm very excited about it.
  3. More time  I have so much I want to do each day, but I can't find time to do it all. It looks like I'm going to have to give up some sleep this week.
  4. New look of Blogger  I went to write this post and realized Blogger gave it's administrative panel a facelift. Not sure if I like it. I'm kind of a creature of habit, so when things change I need time to adjust.
  5. Winner of my Touch of Death SWAG giveaway  My giveaway ended on the 21st, and the winner is... Hillary Curran! Congrats! I've sent you an email so you can claim your prizes.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

Monday Mishmash 1/16/12

Happy Monday! Here's what's on my mind today:

  1. WIP  My WIP is finished and in the hands of one of my most trusted beta readers. I hope she likes it.
  2. New Idea  As usual, I finish one WIP and instantly get an idea for another. Why my brain works this way, I don't know. I'm jotting down my ideas until I can get into this one. It's going to have to wait until after revisions.
  3. Pocono Retreat  I'm all registered for this year's Pocono Retreat, my local SCBWI conference in April. Anyone else going? Laurie Halse Anderson will be there!
  4. Super Teacher Worksheets  If you are a teacher and you don't know about this site, you need to check it out. It's a great resource for teachers, and I happen to write for them. :) Find it here.
  5. UnCONventional  This anthology released 1/13 from Spencer Hill Press. It's 22 paranormal tales. What's not to love?
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?
