- Half-blood I'm loving this book. I have it on my Kindle right now and I'm enjoying it so much I'm reading it slowly. I don't want it to end.
- Amazon gift card My husband got an Amazon gift card, and it's taking all my restraint not to steal it when he's not looking.
- Major revisions I finished a major revision on my YA manuscript. I added a subplot which had to be woven throughout. Wow, that was a lot of work and it added 18K to the project, but I'm glad I did it.
- Fireseed One I'll be part of Catherine Stine's book launch later this month, so look for a post on December 21 to learn more about the new YA release.
- My birthday Thursday is my birthday and I got a new treadmill. Yes, it arrived early. And yes, I wanted one. I run 4-5 times a week and I ran my old one into the ground. Plus, I read on the treadmill and this one has a book holder!

Happy Birthday a few days early! I've always wanted a treadmill, but our house is just too small. It's probably for the best - gets me outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on weaving through that subplot!
Hi Kelly, fellow She Writes gal here:) Just popped onto your blog and I love this post, Mondays are such a mishmash of things.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday for thursday - mine is on sunday! Sounds like you have already been spoilt. Happy writing!
Thanks on both accounts, inluvwithwords! I do like the fresh air, but I live in a resort area with lots of traffic so running outdoors isn't the safest thing. I understand what you are saying about space though. My treadmill is huge.
ReplyDeleteUnpublished Life, thanks for stopping by. Yes, Mondays are a mishmash of things, aren't they? Happy birthday to you, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy early b-day, Kelly! A treadmill with a book holder? That is awesome.
ReplyDeleteA book holder on your treadmill, the perfect writer's accessory and great to keep up the exercise. Bonne continuation!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday for Thursday. I'm thinking about writing a novel with my husband, and trying to work out Wordpress for my website update, and and and... too much more!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
I tell myself that Mondays are fundays, but I'm not sure I always believe me. I'd say I didn't get half the stuff done I wanted to last weekend, but actually, I probably DID get half the stuff done. Some revisions done, much networking done, holiday cards out, but decorations still await. Congratulations on the birthday and the treadmill. I'm in lust both for the book holder and your hubs' Amazon gift card.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday in advance, Kelly! I love brisk walking outdoors and on a treadmill. Enjoy the present! (As I write this, my Monday is coming to an end. So I'm heading off to bed and hope to get up at 4-5am so I can catch up with some work. Love the quiet, dark mornings.)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Kelly. Cool blog redesign. Hope you have a great one!
ReplyDeleteKaren, I love the book holder. The words don't bounce as much as when I used to hold the book myself. :)
ReplyDeleteclairemca, thanks! I know it's a writer/reader's perfect treadmill.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fi! Writing a novel with your husband. Kudos to you. I couldn't do it. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeverly, my husband just informed me he knows how he's going to spend the Amazon gift card. I'm doubting it's on books for me. :( I decorated this weekend. Now I'm fully in the holiday spirit. To-do lists can really get you down, but as long as you are crossing off somethings, you're doing fine.
ReplyDeleteClaudine, goodnight! I love early morning peacefulness, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, thedesertrocks!
ReplyDeleteHappy happy birthday, Kelly!!! Congrats on the major revisions, too : ) What's on my mind today? A clean house (finally!), and market research (my least favorite thing). Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteHappy early birthday!! I think a treadmill with a book holder is about the best thing ever. :) Hope you have a fabulous day! :)
ReplyDeleteI can sympathize with the revisions. I've been buried in them all year long, on various projects. They're exhausting, but worth it in the end. :)
BTW, I love your blog's new look!
Thanks, Katie. Ooh, market research. Yuck. Good luck with that. But yay for the clean house!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tabitha. I'm glad you like my new blog, too. Yes, revisions are daunting but definitely worth the effort in the end. Good luck with yours.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Kelly. A new treadmill with a book holder sounds wonderful. Nice reflections.
ReplyDeleteMy first visit with the new look. Love it! And good for you on the exercise! That's on my mind too as I'm trying to get back into it. Yoga yesterday, recumbent bike today. That and some scene work in the new WIP.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy birthday!
Thanks, DM!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stacy. Good luck with your WIP!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!! And thanks for the mention of my novel. The widget looks cool against the dark background.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Catherine. And you are very welcome. :)
ReplyDeleteI think what your husband meant to say was that he knew (past tense) what he was going to spend the gift card on before he decided to give it to you for your birthday. Yes, I'm positive that's what he meant. Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteBigfoot, if only that's what he meant! I like the way you think. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Kelly. And don't steal your hubby's Amazon gift card. That just isn't right. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday ( early) I don't know how you read on the treadmill. That requires coordination I do not have - clearly. I prefer urban walking but it's cold and dark in the winter so I hit the gym. On another note I am impressed you have not 'borrowed' the Amazon card.
ReplyDeleteLee, don't worry, I'm not going to steal it. But he did leave it right in front of me. It's like he's testing me, and the card keeps whispering, "Spend me!" I'll be good though. Thanks for the birthday wishes.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, borrowed, I like that! LOL. Yes, I've been reading on the treadmill for years. It takes a little getting used to since the words bounce, but after a week or so of headaches, it's easy. Thanks for the birthday wishes.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I can watch TV, or listen to an audio book on a treadmill, but don't know if I could read.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the revision!
Thanks, Rick. Reading on a treadmill definitely takes practice. Once you get the hang of it, it's not bad though.
ReplyDeleteI've announced some exciting news for T.A.A. I'm back to regular updates for one, and there's other things to look forward to, find out here if you're interested-
