I'm really excited to share this cover and blurb with you today because I know Cecilia and I've had the pleasure of reading Reaper's Novice. It's a great story, and I couldn't be happier for Cecilia.
Synopsis:
17- year- old Ana
Maria Tei’s life has always been perfect: loving parents, good grades, and a future so bright it
outshone the sun. But now words like “separation” and “divorce” are sending her
world plummeting to hell. Determined to keep her family intact, Ana plans a
family-bonding trip from Vienna to Tuscany. Except fate has other plans. Ana’s
parents and siblings are killed in a car accident on their way to pick Ana up
from school.
Enter Grim, aka Ernest.
He promises to relinquish the four souls if Ana agrees to trade her soul for
theirs and serve a lifetime as his novice. In order for Ana to graduate from
her Reaper’s Novice station to a Soul Collector graduate, Grim puts her to
test. To her horror, she finds out becoming a Reaper’s Novice didn’t happen by
chance. It was preordained, and
she is forced to make a choice: save
her family’s souls or come to terms with who she really is and complete the
task set for her.

What do you think of the cover and blurb?
This book sounds great & I love the cover!! Reapers are popular at the moment so I'm keen to add this one to my TBR pile.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for sharing.
Since I've already read it, I can say it's worth your time. :)
DeleteThanks, Sharon. hope you'll enjoy the story :)
DeleteSo many components to the cover. Beautiful artwork! She picked a great designer!
ReplyDeleteAnd having read the story, I can say that it suits the book really well.
DeleteThanks, Jodi. couldn't agree more, the designer did great :)
DeleteOoooh, creepy and mysterious. Great cover!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it, Katie!
DeleteHi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteThank you sooo much for hosting Reaper's reveal. Much appreciated. :) and also thank you for the kind words :)
Much deserved, Cecilia!
DeleteThe colors are great and I really like the font of the title. :) Congrats, Cecilia!
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteThanks, Sarah. :)
DeleteLove the cover. Congrats, Cecilia even though I don't know you yet. New books are a cause for celebration in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteEdnah, Cecilia is such a nice person and a great writer. I'm so happy for her. :) And yes, definite cause for celebration.
DeleteThanks, Ednah. Glad you like it:) and you are so right about the celebration. I'm still celebrating :D
DeleteYou're awesome Kelly. Reaper's wouldn't be what it is without you... Thank YOU! :)
DeleteI haven't seen this subject done in a while! Should be a good read. The cover is very eye catching.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I have to plug another reaper novel. I'm reading INBETWEEN by Tara Fuller right now and it's great. So two great reaper books. Yay!
Deleteoooh , I've eyed Tara's book for a while now. I'll get myself a copy :)
DeleteGlad you like it, Michelle. :)
Delete@Kelly - I love that I will get some good winter reading in. I am surprised there are even two reaper books out, it's an underutilized plot.
Delete@Cecilia - I am intrigued! The cover has a very enticing affect. One side it seems like everyone equates to a soul and the other-side looks like Hogwarts :-) Okay, maybe not Hogwarts. But you get the vibe of split worlds. I like another's below comment about Oz, sort of fits.
Great cover. The pigtails suggest a Dorothy/Oz vibe that seems in keeping with the story.
ReplyDeleteYou're so right, Helen! I didn't even pick up on that. Good eye!
Deleteoh wow, Helen, hadn't picked on that as well. :D Thanks.
DeleteNot a big fan of the title font, but love the cover and love that we're finally seeing YA books with a non-white girl front and center! The blurb sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kiersi.:)Hope you'll enjoy reading Reaper's. hope we'll get to see similar covers around.
DeleteYes, Kiersi, I know you like when covers feature non-white girls. :) I had a feeling you'd like this one.
DeleteThis is a spectacular cover- evocative and, well, EERIE.
ReplyDeleteLOL... thanks Mirka.
DeleteI agree, Mirka!
DeleteHey Cecilla! Congratulations on your book! Very eerie cover that really had me wondering about the story inside. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI'll second that. :) Except I know what's inside. ;)
DeleteThank you, Lee. I love the eerie feeling the cover portrays as well. :)
DeleteThough I don't read YA, I can say that is a really great cover. My daughter might enjoy this story. I will definitely point her this way. Congrats to Cecilla! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for passing it along to your daughter, Diane. :)
DeleteI'm glad you like the cover,Diane :) Thanks for recommending Reaper's to your daughter.
DeleteOoh, great stuff! I saw this yesterday. Awesome! Many congrats to Cecilla!
ReplyDeleteYes, my cover reveal was one day late because of my blogging schedule. I see it as I'm extending the celebration. ;)
DeleteOh, thank you S.A. :)
DeleteKelly,it wasn't really late. We're still celebrating it today.. *party dancing* Will take like a week or more before the giddiness wears off ..:D
I like how you can see the narrow city street in the background and the figures behind her. From the description it sounds like the main character will have a very tough decision to make.
ReplyDelete~Jess
I'm glad you like it, Jess. :)
DeleteThanks, DMS.:)
Deletesuch drama, i like it!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteThanks, Aguilar. :)

DeleteI'll second that, Lexa.
