Monday Mishmash 10/29/12

Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:
  1. Geek Chick Radio Halloween Talk  I'll be on Geek Chick Radio today at 1pm EST talking about all things Halloween. Come join us by calling and/or listening in here.
  2. Hurricane Sandy  We're expected to lose power, possibly for 7-10 days, so if I go MIA, you know that's what happened. Stay safe everyone who is in the storm's path.
  3. Edits  I'm swamped with client edits as well as my own. Good thing I love to edit.
  4. Halloween I'm worried Halloween will be a wash out thanks to Hurricane Sandy. :(
  5. Touch of Death blog tour  I've been having a blast doing interviews and guest posts for my blog tour. It starts very soon, too, so stay tuned.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  2. Stay safe, Kelly! We're used to being the first to hold our breaths and wait out storms here in Florida. At least you're prepared.

    Have fun with your edits.

I'm in Orlando this week for the IBM Development Conference. Woot!! :)

    Take care!

  6. You love editing? Oh my -- you are special!

And be safe in the storm. I am at the foot of the Rockies where the storm does not reach -- After experiencing a hurricane in Barbados two years ago, I feel for you and those in its path.

  9. Oh my, 7-10 days? What does a writer/editor do when she doesn't have her computer??

    Be safe!

    1. Thanks, Natasha. I'm not sure how I'll get through the no computer thing. I do have notebooks and pens, though.

  15. Yes, everyone, stay safe. I'm in NYC. So far, it's just a bit of wind and hardly any rain. I figure that will change. I'm ready with candles, LED flashlight, water, the whole nine yards.

  16. Stay safe from Sandy and I hope your Halloween can be salvaged. ((HUGS))

  17. Sure hope all of you are safe back there. Let's hope Sandy blows through without any serious effects.

I'm finally back from my blogging break. It was super refreshing, but I have to admit I missed checking in to see what was going on with my blogging friends.

  18. Waiting for the hurricane (I'm on Long island) and attempting to start weight watchers today. I keep pushing it off, but I'm sick of this baby weight. I miss jeans!

  19. I am hoping that Halloween doesn't get cancelled again this year. Two years in a row will stink for the kids here. We are getting ready for the storm, too. Good luck! Happy editing!

    1. No damage to the house, thankfully. Only without water and power for two days. Not too bad.

    1. I survived. We showered at a friend's house. Yes, we went out on the roads even though we were told not to, but the dogs started sniffing us, so we thought maybe the showers were a good idea. ;)

  24. Stay safe and enjoy the edits. I've lost my voice so stuck home nursing the cold, feeding the fever, or is it the other way around.

  25. Just heard on the radio how much damage the storm has caused. :( pray it will pass soon. Oh, and I'm excited to host TOD in January. :) Look forward to reading TOD :)

  26. I hope you're faring well during this storm.

I get a lot done during hurricane days, provided I have electricity.

    1. Yeah, no electricity during the storm, so nothing got done. :(

  27. I've been following your blog tour - all very exciting.

I've decided at the last minute to participate in NaNoWriMo to kickstart the second novel in my trilogy (while the second draft of the first novel is with my husband) so I'm desperately trying to put together a very basic chapter plan for that.

Keep safe, Kelly and stock up on candles, just in case.

  28. They cancelled school yesterday for today and it turns out the weather here is fine (I live in Rochester, NY). However, they will probably send the kids to school this winter during a blizzard. Lol.

  29. Sounds like you are as busy as ever. Hope you came through Sandy unscathed and power is not down that long if at all. Down here in Virginia, we got only heavy rain and some moderately serious flooding in some areas. This has been the craziest storm ever.

  30. Hope all is ok. My brother returned to work today since he works in a hospital but he said the weather is still crazy. He is in VA. My thoughts are with you - and I hope you have power.

  31. hope you and your family stay safe! crazy storm. i live in houston, tx, so we usually have to prepare for hurricane like storms, but seems odd that you guys up north are got one of these monsters.

You can still listen to the radio show if you'd like. We certainly had a lot of fun. :)
