Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:
- The Monster Within MONSTER Giveaway If you missed my post last Friday, I'm giving away a copy of The Monster Within, SWAG, two other YA novels, and a $10 Amazon or B&N gift card. Enter here. And here's another teaser quote for you.
- Website Updates I've become obsessed with updating my website. I just added a pretty rotating banner to it as well as redesigning the entire site. Feel free to check it out here.
- BEA I can't wait for BEA. I'm such a little kid. I have two signings (Thursday and Friday) and an author breakfast panel (Friday). Yay!
- Proofreading, Editing, and Drafting This week I'm proofreading Into the Fire, editing for a new client, and continuing to draft a new book.
- The Devil Made Me Do It Cover Reveal My fellow Darkly Delicious YA author Shawna Romkey has a new book coming out. Check out this great cover.
Lily is working with
the angels to stifle the last of the demon outbreaks and to figure out how to
stop the Silence of God, so life can get back to boring normality. But all hell
breaks loose when she’s stolen from school and brought face to face with the
devil himself. Lily has to find her way back home to Luc, crack the prophecy
that breaks the curse silencing God, and figure out how she and Luc can ever
really be together; but Lucifer has other plans for her that don’t include her
ever getting out of Hell in tact.
Coming July 1, 2014
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?
Your website is looking great. I like the banner. Still working on my novel here. The sunshine helps. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fi! I was so excited to see my website provider had that carousel banner option. Yay!
DeleteYes, the sunshine does wonders for creativity. Good luck with your novel.
I am currently having a new website designed by professionals (at long last!) I can't wait to have it ready to go live!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm jealous about BEA! I was invited to attend back in 2010 by Sourcebooks, but I was unable to because of our family situation. Sadly, that was the last invitation I got! I've been with bigger publishers since then, but they've got their bigger authors attending ... not little guys like me. My hope is to go next year as a visitor, even if I don't get invited to sign books at a booth as an author.
I wasn't sure if I was going to get invited this year but the release of The Monster Within was pushed back and that got me my invite. I was so happy about it.
DeleteCan't wait to see your website!
Ooh, I did miss your post on Friday. Will check it out!
ReplyDeleteDang, that is a creepy-looking book. Love it! Thanks for sharing it.
Definitely go enter, Sheri!
DeleteHey, nice cover! :)
ReplyDeleteToday my mind is mostly on the natural disaster which hit my country (heavy rainstorms and subsequent floods). Yikes.
I just read your post. That's devastating. Please stay safe.
DeleteOooh, spooky cover. It's an eye-grabber.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!
DeleteLove the banner with all your great books, Kelly. Today is repairmen day. Lightning struck our guest house, and ruined the roof, two rooms of sheetrock, burnt out the electricity, and took out the heat pump. It's the first time I'm happy that my daughter, her hubby, and two girls moved into their own home last year.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sherry!
DeleteOh no! That's terrible. I hope everything gets repaired quickly. At least nobody was hurt.
I'm so excited that an author I know is going to be at BEA! Knock'em dead, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Faith!
DeleteCongrats on the author signings, Kelly! Best of luck this week=)
ReplyDeleteI have a school visit tomorrow which I am super excited for. I love spending time with the kids!
I'm also participating in the "How I Found the Write Path" bloghop this week. Happy Monday!
I read your post. Nicely done!
DeleteHave fun at your school visit. Those are always a good time. :)
I'm liking your website design. I'm also counting down the days to BEA. I'll be singing my book on Saturday. Congrats on your signings and your author breakfast panel! I heard getting on a panel is super difficult.
ReplyDeleteMy publisher puts the panels together, thankfully. I just have to show up and bring some SWAG for the attendees. :) I leave on Saturday, but hopefully I'll see you before I have to go.
DeleteYour website looks good! It's fun but a challenge to keep mine updated. And I do love Romkey's cover a lot! It's an interesting mash up of pretty and creepy. I'm also looking forward to being at BEA. Haven't gone for a couple of years.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Catherine. I get obsessed sometimes with updating my site. Then I'll forget about it for a while. I need to find a better balance. lol
DeleteStriking cover for Shawna!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's a terrific teaser line, Kelly.
Thanks, William!
DeleteI would be so so so excited to get to participate in those things at BEA! Tho when you say author breakfast panel I imagine a row of authors behind a table trying to eat eggs and bacon while ppl ask them questions. I'm sure that's not right...lol!
ReplyDeletelol No, we actually sit at a big table with readers. It's very laid back. We all chat. They ask us questions and we shower them with SWAG over some coffee and food. :)
DeleteYour website updates are really good. I need to do the same, like the day before yesterday...
ReplyDeleteLol Get to it. ;)
Delete"The Devil Made Me Do It" is a great title! And I love the cover. It's creepy and yet still beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree.
DeleteI love that cover!
ReplyDeleteI want to go to BEA so badly. One day I will.
I need to share your teaser somehow since I'm booked all this week on my blog. Maybe I'll tweet or FB it.
Tweet or FB is more than enough, Medeia. Thank you!
DeleteI hope you do get to BEA one year so I can meet you!
