Happy Monday! Here's my mishmash of thoughts:
- I have a roof! Finally! The addition isn't finished yet but I have a roof, which means no more raining in my house. Yay!
- Beth Fred's Blurb Writing Class Beth Fred is teaching another online blurb writing class in August. Beth is great at writing blurbs so you're going to want to sign up here.
- Revisions I'm working on second round revisions of my MG novel this week. I still have more to trim off my word count.
- Kiss of Death My Touch of Death prequel novella from Alex's POV will be ready soon, and it will be free! I can't wait to share it with you.
- Reviewing I need to catch up on reviews. I have two waiting for me to write them. Hopefully they'll get taken care of this week.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?
Yay for a roof! I imagine it's a tad difficult to write when you're being rained on.
ReplyDeleteThis week, I'm back on my novel. Had to do some research before starting the next chapter but I can see it all unfolding in my mind so I'm looking forward to writing this chapter. It's the first of a three chapter mini adventure. Lots of choreographing moves to sort out but lots of monsters and magic too.
Have a great week.
Sounds great, Fi! Good luck with it.
DeleteHurray for having a roof! Getting rained on in your house is no fun!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your word count slashing. I actually really enjoy slicing words out of ms. It's one of my favorite stages of writing!
I don't mind cutting words either. Tightening up your writing is a good thing.
DeleteCan't imagine having to deal with an addition and your work load. I can barely handle having the furnace get replaced :-) at the moment I'm working on a free read to help celebrate my publishers anniversary. Oh and trying to get word out on the blog hop they are doing (they're giving out a kindle paperwhite.). Maybe at some point I'll get my novel length finished. Sigh. Can't wait for Kiss of Death! Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteFree reads are always fun. Good luck with the furnace.
DeleteGlad to hear you have a roof now! It should be so relieving getting on with work, having the whole ordeal behind you.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait. Having to redo the downstairs on top of the addition was a lot more than we planned for.
DeleteYay on the roof!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you have a roof! Hope you have an awesome week :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Meradeth. You too!
DeleteI was thinking of you yesterday when that rain rolled in! Glad you were nice and dry under your new roof :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, thankfully we were.
DeleteHaving the roof restored counts as a very good thing.
ReplyDeleteYes! However, we went out tonight and it rained. We came home to find rain came in since the windows aren't in yet. *sigh*
DeleteYay for a roof! It's always good to have one of those. ;) I can't wait to read Kiss of Death!
ReplyDeleteYeah. lol I'm glad you're looking forward to Kiss of Death.
DeleteRain inside the house is never a good thing. Thanks for the heads up on the blurb writing class. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Enjoy your week.
DeleteCongratulations on finally getting a new roof, Kelly! I have to catch up on my reviews as well. I was reading Moonless by Crystal Collier but had to take a break because I'm teaching several writing classes for elementary and middle graders. Hopefully, I can get back to reading as well as my own edits soon!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy teaching those classes. I'm sure you're having a blast.
DeleteYeah! Glad the roof is done and it sounds like you are making progress on all fronts. :) Hope this is an excellent week!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephanie. I hope you have a great week, too.
DeleteYay, glad you have a roof! No more raining in the house ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Auden!
DeleteCongrats on the roof being done. It can be very disrupting to have a house in construction chaos!
ReplyDeleteYes. Unfortunately, we have a mess inside too thanks to the damage.
DeleteI'm also working on a second round of revisions for my book. The end is finally in sight :) Good that you have a roof now :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your revisions. That's great that the end is in sight.
DeleteYay for roofs! Good luck w/revisions, I'm sure you'll wrestle that word count into submission in no time.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Leandra.
DeleteYAY to a new roof! I think I'm the only author in the world who ends up writing too FEW words when I finish a manuscript, rather than too many!
ReplyDeletelol I always end up cutting.
