Monday Mishmash 12/8/14

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. My Birthday  Today's my birthday. Can't say I'm thrilled to get a year older, but I guess that's inevitable, huh?
  2. Editing  December has become the month of edits. I'm booked through January with no breaks at all. I hope I can fit Christmas in there. ;)
  3. Christmas Shopping  I'm 98% finished. I just have some grandparent gifts to take care of, but that should be easy enough. Now…wrapping. Ick.
  4. Reviewing/Blurbing  I have two books to read. One I agreed to blurb and another I agreed to review. (I think I'm going to wish for more hours in my days for my birthday.)
  5. Holiday Shop with the PTO  I'm also working at my daughter's school this week helping the PTO with the holiday shop for the kids. (Yup, definitely wishing for more hours in my days.)
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. Birthdays should always thrill - happy birthday.

You're much more organised than me on the shopping front - I'm only about halfway through, although we did put the tree up last night.

Writing in fits and starts due to the festive month and my children's social life.

    Have a wonderful week.

    1. We put our tree up last night too. My house is a complete mess with construction though so it's kind of funny having the tree all decorated and surrounded by furniture from other rooms and boxes. *sigh*

  2. Happy Birthday, Kelly! Why are you here?? Go and celebrate!!!
Good luck with your reviews and edits. Like you, I am almost done with shopping and I did most of it online this year through Ebates. Love getting cash back for my purchases=)

    1. I had a busy day volunteering at my daughter's school, editing, and painting. Work and commitments have to be done regardless of birthdays, right?

My best advice for this year (on shopping), visit Amazon first! :)

  5. Happy Birthday! Hope there's some yummy cake. My mother never liked wrapping either. She'd pay me a quarter a present to wrap- I loved doing it! =)

  7. Happy Birthday, Kelly! I've come to wish they'd just call it "My-day" so that we'd only embrace it as a special 'me' day instead of reminding us of how many 'me' days we've celebrated! Make it YOUR day and enjoy!

  8. Happy Birthday, Kelly! I haven't even started Christmas shopping. I keep forgetting. Despite the tree in my living room. ;)

I actually love wrapping! My family usually gives me gifts so I can wrap for them.

    1. And I feel like I got so far behind this year. Nothing is wrapped though and that's the hard part.

  11. Cheers, Kelly! And, getting older is not all that bad. I'm told there are lots of bennies. However, I'm still looking for them, but I will let you know when I find where old man time hid them. You're the best, so have a glorious day.

  12. Happy birthday! I don't wrap gifts, but put them in bags with tissue paper.

  13. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear Kelly. Happy birthday to you.
About Christmas. Since my family is so scattered, I either send checks or gift certificates. One granddaughter keeps a wish list on Amazon which helps too. Not as personal I know, but easier than mailing.

  15. Happy belated birthday, Kelly, I know what you mean, but just because we're not your daughter's age doesn't mean our birthdays still can't be fun, you know?

I hope yours was fun, and speaking of birthdays, today Gabriel (from my upcoming novel) is celebrating his birthday! (Dec. 10) His friend Rum celebrated his last month (Nov. 12) I hope you'll get a chance to stop by my author Facebook page to check out my special birthday tribute: https://www.facebook.com/taureanjwatkins
