Monday Mishmash: 1/26/15

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Scholastic Book Fair  I'm working the Scholastic Book Fair this week at my daughter's school. I know Stephanie Farris's book will be there, so I'll be talking it up to the kids. Anyone have a book that's part of the fair? I'll be sure to showcase it if so. :)
  2. Editing  I'm working on client edits this week.
  3. Snow  This stuff needs to go away for good. I'm done with winter.
  4. Drafting  I'm doing something I rarely do. I'm slowly drafting a book here and there between other projects. I don't really like to work like this but sometimes it's necessary, and to be honest, I love what I've written so far, so maybe this is what this book needs.
  5. Looking For Love Cover Reveal Signups  I'm looking for people to sign up for the Cover Reveal of the final installment of the Campus Crush companion series (New Adult contemporary romance). Interested in helping out? Oh, and the form has a spot if you're interested in reviewing an ARC. Sign up here:
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. scholastic fair sounds awesome, so excited Stephanie's book will be there :) we've got a massive blizzard slamming Long Island. It's our first real snow so I'm happy, but I have a feeling it will be a mess for a lonnng time lol

    1. I'm not happy about the snow at all. Schools are all closed and that means I'm trying to get work done with my daughter and husband home. It's going… yeah. ;)

  2. Ooh, ooh, ooh! I think The Eighth Day is part of the fair, and I heard from someone on Twitter that it's featured on one of the advertising posters. If that's true, do you think you could snag that poster for me at the end of the fair? I'd love a copy.

Sadly, the school I formerly taught at, where I still have a bunch of teacher friends, only does the Scholastic Fair in the fall and they bring in a different company in the spring. So, too bad for me. :(

    1. I will definitely try. We don't always get the flyers believe it or not. I'll search though and be sure to promote your book to the kids.

  4. Ah, but snow is a gloriously wonderful thing! Right?

I see I'm in the minority on that opinion....

  6. I love book fairs. Better leave your wallet, or maybe take it depending. :)

  7. Have fun with the Book Fair.

That snow is a mess already and it's not done until tomorrow. I hope everyone stays safe.

    1. I'm hoping this storm takes a big turn and misses us completely. ;)

  8. The Scholastic Book Fairs are so much fun. I remember begging my mom for as many books as she would let me buy whenever they came to our school.
I signed up for your cover reveal! Congrats Kelly and I am happy to be back!

  9. I love book fairs. How cool that Stephanie's book will be there! Have fun and good luck drafting your books (sounds like it is a different process, but that it is going well). :)

    1. I love when I get to tell the kids that I know the author of the books they're buying. For some reason that's a good selling point too. ;)

  10. Sounds like a busy week. Snow isn't my favorite weather either. Have a good week.

  11. We've had a super mild winter compared to what we had last year. Of course, I probably should've knocked on wood first... Have fun at the book fair, I absolutely loved those as a kid. When my little guy gets in school, I will totally be volunteering if they do that at his school! As for other books, Anna Staniszewski mentioned on her blog recently that her books were going to be in the Scholastic Book Club. Not sure if that's any different from the book fair or not.

  12. Book fairs are fantastic, but very expensive for grand parents who don't know how to say "No". Our school's cost me $95, but it was well worth it to watch her sit on the library floor and relish a preview of each one.

  13. I hope you haven't lost power there, with all the snow and the non-stop coverage CNN has given this Nor'easter... Instead of being "done with snow" try treating it like a lovable cousin who stopped by. It may make Cousin Snowie not come again for a while. (Reverse psychology ;} )

    1. We got about four inches of snow total. It was the storm that wasn't. ;) Two days off from school, though. ;)

  14. Hi, Kelly, I am just getting back into blogging and posting after the New Years. I'm rusty at it. LOL. When is your book launch day? I can help with that.
