Monday Mishmash 3/2/15

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Migraines  Last week I had two awful headaches. One was a migraine that left me unable to do anything and up all night sick from the pain. I'm hoping this week passes without any headaches, because I have work to do.
  2. Editing  More edits on my plate this week. :)
  3. Taxes  My tax forms took a long time getting to me this year. I'm usually finished with this process by now. I need to schedule an appointment soon.
  4. FREE Monthly Newsletter  My free monthly newsletter goes out this evening. If you aren't signed up but would like to receive one, click here.
  5. Thunderclap  I still need help reaching my goal off 100 supporters for my Thunderclap campaign for Looking For Love. Click "Join this Thunderclap" on the image below and sign up to allow Thunderclap to post this message for you. Once you're signed up, you don't have to do anything else. It's that simple. I hope you'll consider signing up. If I'm short of my goal, the campaign won't post. :(

That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. Hope you're feeling better now. Migraines are horrendous. We have a different tax timetable in the UK but I'm terrible at getting them in on time (leave it until the last minute).

I've finished my new chapter plan so this week, I'll be reworking my novel - scary.

    Have a good one.

    1. We are usually early with our taxes because we're in a hurry to get our return. ;)

      Good luck with your novel!

  2. I hope they stay away! I've never had a migraine. The worst headache I've ever had in my life was the day I found out I was pregnant(pregnancy hormones! stress!), and it was awful, so I can imagine migraines are a force to be reckoned with. Looking forward to my newsletter! =)

    1. I think I'd rather go through labor again than have another migraine. Mine are that bad. :(

  3. I hope those dreadful migraines stay away, Kelly. They feel awful and are probably the worst ailments to have when trying to get work done.
Can you tell me what your Thunderclap campaign is? I'd love to help out if you give me the details=)

    1. Sure, Gina. What Thunderclap does is post a message on a given day so that it reaches a much larger audience than what one person could ever do alone. By signing up, you all allowing Thunderclap to post the message that you will see on the signup screen to either your FB or Twitter account on that day. That's it. You don't have to do anything after you sign up. Thunderclap does it for you. It's like scheduling a post in advance. The idea is to reach the followers of everyone who signs up.

    1. I haven't been able to eat for days because of these migraines. I was so sick to my stomach. I finally have an appetite again. It was dreadful.

    1. Thanks, Beth. They run in my family and are caused by allergies. My mom got awful migraines in her thirties. It looks like I'm taking after her, unfortunately.

  7. Hope the migraines are past you. Manuscript evals are good freelance work, but... I just finished a 400+ page one, and it was a fascinating read but took time away from my writing.

    1. Oh, they definitely take time from your own writing. I haven't worked on my WIP in about a week because of edits for my clients.

  8. So sorry to hear about your migranes. Thank goodness you are doing better. Ugh, taxes. That's on my list for next week as well. I'm writing a query letter today. I'm going the traditional route (hopefully) for my new books. We shall see...

    1. I highly doubt I'll get my taxes done this week. I don't think my husband can fit it into his schedule. Hopefully next week.

  11. I've never had migraines- my understanding is they're worse than sinus infections. My parents had a friend who had them off and on through her life.

  14. I am sorry to hear about the migraines. I get them too and they are not fun. I had two in the past month and my husband just had one. It seems to be the season for them. I hope you don't get any more!

  17. Maybe the taxes caused the migraines?... :( One day we'll know more about those blasted neurological events. Until them, maybe take comfort that you have had enough business to have to pay taxes. Here's to a pain-free week!
