Monday Mishmash 10/19/15

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. My Bio Couldn't Be More True  The first line of my bio reads that I fully admit to being the most accident-prone person in the world. I truly am. Let me recap last week for you. Saturday evening (after YA Fest) I cut my hand on the rounded edge of my countertop. Yes, rounded edge. Sunday, I got hit in the head with the mega-sized plug from our giant air conditioning unit as my husband carried it up to the attic. I now have a bump on my forehead. Friday night I fell down the stairs and hurt my arm. The X-rays didn't show a break but because of the amount of swelling, the doctor thinks I may have a hairline fracture that only an MRI would see. Still, no need for a cast. So yeah, my bio is spot-on.
  2. Good News I Can't Share Yet  In the midst of my awful week, I got good news. I can't share yet, but I'm very excited. :)
  3. Editing  I have three books on my plate to edit over the next two weeks. And I'm typing one-handed because of my arm. Eek!
  4. New Adult Scavenger Hunt  I'm (as Ashelyn Drake) on Team Blue for the New Adult Scavenger Hunt. Yay! These are always a lot of fun.
  5. Alien MG Submissions for Seek  I got some great alien MG submissions during my open Twitter pitch last week. It's going to be tough picking just one out of these.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. Ouch! I'm so sorry you got hurt, and one arm typing--eek is right. I hope you feel better soon.

    1. I'll be fine. Luckily, being accident-prone means I have a high pain tolerance. ;)

  2. Goodness, I thought I was accident prone, but compared to you, I'm Grace Kelly. I hope you feel better soon.

  3. I read about your arm as I was heading to bed last night. Holy... So sorry you've been having these mishaps lately. I've had moments of $^&#% before, where I've tripped or whatever and ended up hurting myself. The sad part is that I was paying attention and still did it. :( Here's to healing quickly....

    1. Thanks, Sheri. We all have those moments. Mine just like to cluster together and gain up on me. ;)

  4. Ouch, I'm accident prone as well. One weekend I hurt the same foot 3x. Twice while simply walking. Can't believe how bad it swelled up. And just when I can put some weight on it and the swelling went down, I slipped & fell down the stairs. Hurting the same foot again. Anyways, there's nothing new for me. Still on the fence on my NaNoWriMo novel, so prepping and pre-plotting for both. Good luck with your edits and MG alien manuscripts. Feel better soon!

    1. Being accident-prone is something only other accident-prone people understand. ;)

Good luck deciding on the NaNoWriMo novel.

  5. I feel lucky that I'm not accident prone, especially after reading about your week. Feel better. Typing one handed sure isn't ideal when you've got deadlines looming.

  6. Oh wow, I hope you feel better! I'm very accident prone myself. Half the time, I can admit it was just me being clumsy, but half the time, I don't even know how something could have hurt me. Like the rounded edge of the counter thing. That's so me!

  8. I work on avoiding accidents, but when they happen I'm truly angry at myself. Why didn't I look before taking that step? Or why didn't I not push that overhead drawer closed? Ouch.

Take care. Be careful and get your edits done.

  12. I find that things happen in bundles. Or is it the way we register them? You had a bundle of accidents. I recall such a week when I looked like a battered person and it was all me.
How wonderful to get good news in the middle of Accidents Week.
