Monday Mishmash 1/4/16

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Perfect For You $.99 Sale!  To ring in the New Year, I've dropped the Kindle price of Perfect For You to $.99 through January 7th. If you're thinking of reading this book, grab your copy here now before the price goes back up.
  2. Editing  My editing schedule is crazy booked. I'm talking no breaks whatsoever for me for three months. Someone send dark chocolate and lots of it, please.
  3. Beth Fred's Blog  If you haven't checked out Beth Fred's blog yet, she's had some really helpful posts lately, including today. Check out her blog here.
  4. Up In Flames  I'm finishing up edits on Up In Flames, book three in the Into the Fire Trilogy. Have I mentioned the covers for this series are GORGEOUS? I seriously can't get over how amazing they are. I'll keep you posted on the cover reveal dates.
  5. Back to a Normal Schedule  Working with my daughter and husband home is…interesting. ;) They are both good about giving me time to work, but I still don't get the five and a half uninterrupted hours I have when they are at school and work. With all the edits on my plate this month, I need that time.
  6. Pocono Writers Conference  I'll be attending the Pocono Writers Conference this Sunday. I can't wait. It's been too long since I've attended a conference.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. I know what you mean about working when family is home. I had more time to myself to write before I retired, and I worked 60 hour weeks then! Can't wait to see the new covers.

  2. Happy Monday! Yeah, actually getting uninterrupted hours to write when you have kids and family home pretty much only happens once in a blue moon. Every other minute my own kept coming up to me with crazy question from whatever cartoon they were watching. And getting up to all kinds of nonsense, running up and down the stairs, until I kicked them out to play outside. But that didn’t last as long as I’d hoped. Good luck with your edits and the conference.

    1. LOL Yes, I know that well. I tend to wear headphones when I'm editing so my family gets the hint not to bother me. It helps.

  4. You're busy as usual. The conference sounds great. It's been ages since I've done anything like that. Can't wait to see those covers. I'm happy to do a reveal on my blog!

  6. If I had any dark chocolate I'd send it along, but I avoid that like the plague.

Milk chocolate, on the other hand...

  7. I tried working while my partner was off and quickly threw in the towel. Ended up having a nice time off so I guess I shouldn't complain.

    Happy New Year!

  13. Hope you get some time for yourself before the spring. I was away for a birthday weekend treat straight after the new year with my husband to Venice, then the day after we got back, the children went back to school, so I haven't fared too badly this week with getting back to my work.

I'm still plugging away at finding a literary agent. Another has said no but that they liked the novel and that I should keep sending it out - it just didn't suit them. Next stage is to begin on novel 2 but first I need to have a massive brainstorm about where to take all the characters.

Have a great week (with hopefully time for chocolate).

  14. Five and a half hours!?! No wonder you make so much progress. =) (Says the homeschooling mom to 4.) We do what we can some days, eh?

  15. Ooh, can't wait to hear more about the conference. Every year, I tell myself I'll go to the SF Writer's Conference, which is held in February, but it never seems to work out with my calendar.
Good luck (and good work) on the edits! :)
