Monday Mishmash 11/14/16

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. NaNoWriMo  So I won NaNo a week ago today, but they won't let me validate and confirm my win. On Wednesday I'll be sharing what I've learned from NaNo and why it's not geared toward writers like me.
  2. Editing  I'm editing for a newish client this week. I did a one-chapter edit over the summer for her, and now I'm editing her full book.
  3. Thank You  I want to thank everyone who visited my daughter's blog. She was so excited to see your comments. Since she has books by several of you, it was even more exciting for her to recognize your names. If you haven't checked out her blog, you can find it here.
  4. Parent-Teacher Conferences  My daughter is home today and tomorrow because it's conference time at her school. My conference is tomorrow morning.
  5. Continuing to Draft  Even though my NaNo book is finished, I'm going to keep this momentum and finish a book I started last year and had to put aside to meet other deadlines.
  6. Piper Morgan to the Rescue  Stephanie Faris's new book releases tomorrow. I adore this cover. I mean how cute is this? Be sure to grab your copy here. And enter Stephanie's giveaway here.
Piper helps some four-legged friends find the perfect home in the third book of the brand-new Piper Morgan series.

Piper is super excited to help out at Bark Street, a local animal shelter in town. Who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by adorable puppies and dogs all day? And when Piper sees Taffy, the cutest dog she has ever seen, Piper is determined to find a way to bring Taffy home. But it won’t be easy—especially when she finds out someone else wants to make Taffy a part of their family, too!

That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  4. It's always exciting when our children follow in our footsteps. Congrats and to NaNoWriMo.
Though I'm not in it to win it my low word count isn't helping to flesh out the story.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts about NaNoWriMo.

    1. Thank you, Jess! And I agree. How exciting that her daughter is starting so young. I know she must totally admire her mom and want to follow in her footsteps!

  9. Somehow I knew you'd be the two-book NaNoWriMo-gal, and it's only the middle of the month!

    1. In all honesty, I was already 20K into the second book. Obviously I won't count that in my overall word count, but if I do finish it will not be another 50+K.
