Monday Mishmash 4/16/18

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Formatting  I'm formatting a book for a client this week.
  2. Revising  I'm revising a book I recently wrote. I have to fix some tense issues, which is always an issue when you switch tenses from one book to the next. I wrote one in past tense, and then I wrote this one in the present. I keep finding passages in past tense. Ugh! But, this is what revision is all about, right?
  3. Book Expo  Thank you to everyone who came out to see Ayla and me on Saturday at the Monroe County Book Expo. We had a lot of fun. Yes, Ayla sold more books than I did, but that's okay. She's adorable and wrote two books by the age of 11. I'd buy her book over mine, too! ;)
I'm not including the picture of Ayla with her half of the table because I don't post pictures of her online. You can see her chalkboard and trading cards though!
  4. Editing  I have a client edit on my plate this week.
  5. Ayla's presenting at a school board meeting  I'll be attending the school board meeting tonight because Ayla was selected to do a presentation. I'm so excited for her.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. I wanted to make it to the expo but also wanted to see my neices in concert. I just couldn’t do both.

    Good luck to Ayla tonight!

    1. I hope you enjoyed the concert. I've tried to be in two places at once. It's just not doable. ;)

  2. Editing tenses can be quite a headache. That's why I prefer sticking to one and one only.

    1. Certain books just need one over the other for me. I wish I could stick with one.

  3. I'd love to know what Ayla presented, and what the issue was. Speaking of present (odd segway) I recently attempted a PB which began in the past and switched to the present. it worked well for my ears, but not any of my betas...

    1. She did a presentation on the use of technology in math classes. She got to go around to the different grades in her school and record lessons using the technology. Then she reported back to the school board.
Tense switches. They can be such a pain.

  4. Congratulations, Ayla! I'm so glad the expo went well for both of you.
