- Finishing the Touch of Death trilogy I finished the third and final book in the Touch of Death trilogy. I had to go back and reference a lot from the first two books, but it was worth it in the end. I'm happy with how it turned out.
- Santa Bunny Yes, I know this is my MG/YA blog, but I recently released another picture book, Santa Bunny. It's an Easter/Christmas crossover story. Learn more about it here.
- Promotional items I'm brainstorming promotional items for Touch of Death. Yes, a little early. ;) They are awesome though! Can't wait to do a giveaway.
- My dad's birthday My dad's birthday is this weekend. Looking forward to celebrating.
- Contemporary romance At the beginning of the year I promised myself I'd write a contemporary YA. I'm planning it now!
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

That sounds like a satisfying week to me. Happy Birthday to your Dad.
ReplyDeleteWell, after being ill last week, I'm still a little tender and tired but at least I am clear minded and have my motivation back so I'm putting the final polish on my novel competition entry before sending it off, working on my website now that I've mastered WordPress (kind of) picking up all the threads that I hid in a drawer last week.
I'm glad you're feeling better, Fi. Good luck with your novel and the website.
DeleteI'm glad someone else has a mishmash Monday mind. I like it!
ReplyDeleteWell wishes for your Dad and good luck with the book(s). You have a lot on your plate. Thanks for reading my post today and commenting. I shall return to read.
Thanks! Mondays are always full of things to do, aren't they?
DeleteHappy birthday to your Dad. Have fun brainstorming.
ReplyDeleteAs for me. Study and writing is my plan for the week.
Good luck studying and writing, Terrie!
DeleteThis week is spring break, so I am hoping to catch up on all those things that have fallen to the side. Congrats on finishing your trilogy, and good luck with the new WIP!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ellen! Enjoy spring break!
DeleteSounds like a good week. Congrats on finishing the third book in the trilogy. Have fun with the new contemporary project.
ReplyDeleteThanks. The contemporary should be a challenge. I've never written one. But I think it will be a lot of fun too.
DeleteI am in awe of you Kelly. You finished a trilogy. So awesome!! Congrats.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Sheri! :D
DeleteKeep up the good work! I have to do taxes this week, ugh! Not looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI hope the numbers come back in your favor!
DeleteWow, Kelly. You never cease to amaze me. You are so prolific. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! You're so sweet!
DeleteI decided to give the romance another shot, Kelly. I read the first few pages of a random Harlequin Blaze novel and I'm beginning to feel a bit disappointed. However, I'm not giving up either. I'm going to read on, because maybe I need to give the characters some time to follow through.
ReplyDeleteI'll be looking for your YA and will get it for my daughter. :)
Thanks, Diane.
DeleteGood luck with your romance. Keep me posted. I'm writing my YA romance now. We can get through them together. :)
Happy birthday to your dad.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts this week are planning promo for my YA contemporary Life on Hold. Also, I'm watching the birds, the baby rabbits, and spring slowly unfolding. I'm editing my WIP, hoping to finish this round by the end of March. Waiting for baseball season to start.
Thanks, Beverly.
DeleteGood luck with your promo and editing. Both are exciting!
Wow! I wish I could get as much done as you do.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I like to keep busy.
DeleteCongratulations on getting the 3rd book in the Touch of Death series finished. You certainly have a lot going on! I love the idea of your new picture book. It sounds very fun! I am busy this week writing and working on some other projects.
ReplyDeleteHappy writing!
~Jess
Thank you! Good luck with those other projects. You have me wondering what they are.
DeleteCongrats on the new PB.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mariah!
DeleteCongrats on all you've done, and happy birthday to your Dad!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteGood luck with your next project, Kelly
ReplyDeleteThanks! You're going to critique the first chapter on my next turn. :)
DeleteIt's awesome you've finished your trilogy. Good luck on your new project! For me, I'm creating a plan to build my online platform and working on my second novel.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Auden!
DeleteSomething about reading your posts made me write a new first chapter for a YA. Keep up the inspirational posts Kelly!
ReplyDeleteHappy to help. :)
DeleteCongrats on finishing the trilogy! Today I'm thinking about:
ReplyDelete1) A guest post series on my blog
2) Adding some words to my WIP
3) Revising 20 pages in my YA novel
4) Cleaning up my cluttered house
Good luck with all that, Adrianne. You have a busy week.
DeleteYou are one FAST writer!
ReplyDeleteOnly when things go well. LOL.
DeleteA happy birthday to your dad!
ReplyDeleteI love your Monday mishmash. Congrats on finishing another book. Happy birthday to your dad. Can't wait to hear how your contemporary YA is going.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like the Monday Mishmash, Donna. :) And thank you!
DeleteYou are my heroine (next to Stella, of course).. I have finished chapter three of my new WIP and.. bought (on a whim) a new piece of writer's software. I spent the day messing with it. I only mention it because you noted going back and forth to books one and two while you finished the 3rd book. While going through the edit process of my first WIP I realized I have forget when I make changes ( like dates and names, etc). The new WIP takes place over a week - so timing is important to me. Anyway, if your interested let me know, i'll send along the link. Happy Bday to Dad. I am writing - nothing new to report. OOh, I am going to New York at the end of the month. It's been ages since I was last there..
ReplyDeleteI may take you up on that software for later on. For now it seems like all my ideas are stand alones. I have my own weird methods of keeping track of time and other things within one novel. It was just having to consult two other manuscripts that was confusing and time consuming.
DeleteHave fun in New York. I haven't been there in a while either.
I have a question...did you have book two finished before pitching your series to a publisher?
ReplyDeleteYes, Rena, I did. I also had the full synopsis for book three finished.
DeleteThanks. A writing group that I'm in has been debating wether or not to finish book two in a series before pitching.
DeleteMy agent tells me to have at least the first 25K of book two finished in case the publisher wants to see it. Since it was a trilogy and I had to have the third book synopsis finished, it made sense to me to just finish book two. She did tell me not to write the third until I sold the first though.
DeleteCongrats on all you are getting done - that's fab! I need to get back to editing after taking one night off...
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your editing!
DeleteHappy Birthday, Kelly's dad! And many more...
ReplyDeleteHappy early b-day to your dad.
ReplyDeleteHappy writing and I love the title of Santa Bunny.
My Blogger Dashboard is going crazy. I had to re-follow you when I never unfollowed. I'm going to check my lists soon to see who else disappeared.
I don't know why that happens sometimes, but I've had to refollow a bunch of blogs recently too. Strange.
DeleteThanks for the birthday wishes for my dad!
Congrats on finishing the third MS!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kate! It's satisfying and sad at the same time. I love the characters and am happy I saw their story through to the end, but I hate saying goodbye.
