Booker Award and Blog Ribbon

The lovely Diane Carlisle awarded me with two awards this week. The first is the Booker Award, and this may be my favorite because it's just plain awesome.

To receive this award the blog must be at least 50% about books (reading or writing).

I also get to share my top 5 favorite books:
  1. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan
  2. Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick
  3. Betrayed by Ednah Walters
  4. He Loves Me, He Loves You Not by Lauren Hammond
  5. Delirium by Lauren Oliver

I also received the Fabulous Blog Ribbon.
I get to post lots of great 5s with this one.
5 Fabulous Moments:
  1. The birth of my daughter
  2. The day I got married
  3. The day I signed with my agent
  4. The day Touch of Death was offered on by Spencer Hill Press
  5. The day I won a 5K race for the women and placed top three overall, meaning only 2 men beat me. (I came in right behind my husband.)

5 Things I Love:
  1. My family
  2. My jobs (writing and editing rock!)
  3. Books (both reading and writing them)
  4. The caribbean
  5. Coffee
  6. Acting like a kid
5 Things I Dislike:
  1. Snakes
  2. Grumpy people
  3. Traffic
  4. The state of the economy
  5. My lack of patience at times
And here are the five people I'm passing these two awards on to:
  1. Brenda Moguez
  2. Mirka Breen
  3. C. Lee McKenzie
  4. Catherine Stine
  5. Adrianne Russell
Your turn. What are your top 5 books or 5 things you love?

    1. Adorable? I can't even fathom that word in the same sentence as a snake. Oh no.

  7. Congratulations! I enjoyed your 5s lists. I especially like the fact that you won a 5k race for women. I haven't won any races, but I do like it when I get a PR. My favorite 5k race is the pink ribbon run, which is held on Lake Ontario. Again Congratlutions to you

    1. Thanks! I think I've won about 14 5K races. That race was just special because I placed 3rd overall and beat all but two men. Totally awesome. I ran a good time too. I think it was 18:26. Not my best, but still good.

  8. Congrats on the award! I loved your five things. Yeah, traffic sucks. I take the subway or walk because I have no patience for traffic.

    1. Yeah, I got stuck in traffic yesterday and it was not fun. Too hot to be sitting in a car and not moving at all.

  21. Congrats Kelly!! Your blog deserves the award ;) And I LOVE Delirium too the cliffhanger just made me hysterical T_T And WOW, you run fast! I'm one who lacks stamina when it comes to running, getting an A for my fitness test is like, a hurdle that just gets higher every year xD

    1. Thanks! I'm not training for 5Ks anymore so I can't run that fast now. I still wish I could, but I have a sciatic injury that makes it painful to run on anything but flat ground. That rules out running outdoors. I'm treadmill and track bound now.

Yes, the cliffhanger ending of Delirium was intense!

  22. Snakes...shudder. I'm with you on that one. Congrats on your 5K run! I only run if there are large dogs behind me, so this is a big accomplishment to me.

I love sour patch kids and Oreos. That's my top 2. :)

  26. I love your number 5 fabulous moment. Rocking a 5k is a big achievement. Next time you'll just have to give your husband a nudge and cruise on past :)

There's too many books to choose from, so top 5 thinks I love:

    1 -- Mac & Cheese
2 -- Cold milk (yum! I drink so much milk it's scary).
    3 -- Chocolate. 'Nuff said.
4 -- Going for walks. It sounds silly, but it really clears my head.
5 -- A hot shower after a long day. Is there anything better in this world?
