- Revisions I'm almost finished with this round of revisions on my WIP. Yay!
- Month9Books I got to speak with Georgia McBride and Brittany Howard, two people from Month9Books, my amazing publisher for my MG series. I had a great conversation with them and am really excited to get to work on Curse of the Granville Fortune. :)
- Reading I'm making a big effort to read more and get caught up on my TBR list. I feel like I might actually be making progress. Now if I could just stop adding more books to the pile. ;P
- Sisterhood of World Bloggers and Tell Me About Yourself Blog Award I received these two awards from Michele Berger. Thanks, Michele. I'm supposed to tell you 7 things about myself, but I'm not sure there's anything left to tell. I'm kind of an open book. So, here are the 7 bloggers I'm passing the awards on to:
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?
HI Kelly, Just starting a full week of work! And trying to carve out time between to meet some deadlines!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that, Jodi! I hope it's a great week.
DeleteHi Kelly! Congratulations on the awards, you hard working woman! I am gearing up for a big day. My guest post is out and already I have big response from different avenues. Got my coffee pot ready to go today!
ReplyDeleteYay for guest posting. That's always fun, and your posts are great reads. :)
DeleteKatieC has left a new comment on your post "Monday Mishmash and More Blog Awards":
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly! Today is grocery day :) But then more WIP day!
Katie, I don't know why but your comment showed up in my email instead of here. I really want to know why this happens sometimes. Blogger issue I guess.
DeleteI wish you lots of words on your WIP!
I envy your speedy progress with your edits, impressive.
ReplyDeleteYes, I might have a ghost of a chance to finish my TBR pile if I didn't keep adding more to it.
I know, right? The TBR pile will never get smaller with all the great books coming out. That's a good thing though.
DeleteGood luck with the rest of your edits. :)
ReplyDeleteI am working on my digital holiday short that will be released on November 1. Want to get a solid first draft done by the end of the week.
Sounds fun! Good luck!
DeleteYay, Kelly! Good job with your WIP! I'm so glad you're leaping forward with your revisions.
ReplyDeleteAs for my TBR list, it too grows longer and longer. I fear I'll never catch up!
Thanks so much for the awards!
You're welcome, Kat! I don't think it's possible to catch up on the TBR list. LOL
DeleteI feel you about the TBR list. I'm reading more than I used to but I keep buying books. I've gotten into the habit of reading two books at a time.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the awards!
I used to read 2-3 books at a time, but I've stopped. Maybe I should start again.
DeleteThis week is all about keeping up with Fast Draft. So far so good.
ReplyDeleteYay, I love fast drafting. Keep it up!
DeleteWoot! Another award! :D
ReplyDeleteI've been doing a lot more reading these days as well. There just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day.
Thanks, Kelly!
Two awards actually. :)
DeleteThere's never enough time in the day. I wish I could freeze time and get ahead for once.
Congrats on the award and I totally agree about the reading pile. It seems to keep growing!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, and yes it does!
DeleteIsn't that reading pile amazing? I can't look at it anymore, even my Kindle is crowded. I have to take time out and read up a storm.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your award. You are gathering those up almost as fast as your TBR pile!
I know. I'm pleasantly overwhelmed by all the awards I've been getting. :)
DeleteI'm reading more but it's still not helping this pile get smaller. Probably because I buy faster than I read. ;P
Well, other than writing ABBA-eque type lyrics I am WRITING the next chapter in my WIP, PHEW. I am falling in love all over again with my characters. I printed out out what I had written and spent Saturday reading. At the end, I had the conversation with self, rewrote a chapter and felt that ole mojo bubbling inside of me and I was back on track. I love writing, it's like life in a bottle.
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm so glad to hear you are back in love with your WIP. You work magic when you write, Brenda. I've seen it. :)
DeleteToday I made pizza for the first time in I don't remember how many years. It turned out good!
ReplyDeleteYum!
DeleteAw, Kelly. How nice. Thank you. Will post later this week.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Beverly!
DeleteWell done on the awards.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Roger!
DeleteAw thank you Kelly! (Lol you always get me when I'm just getting off a plane!) ;) So we must give them to seven bloggers as well? :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Yes, you pass both awards on to 7 other bloggers. :)
DeleteI am brain dead today. Congrats on your awards and good luck with revisions!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elana! I hope the brain dead issue is over. :)
DeleteKudos on your awards and belated thanks for the award you gave me! I'm knee-deep in revisions and trying to keep up with my blog schedule but I wanted to make sure I thanked you!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Adrianne. Good luck with your revisions.
DeleteThanks for the lovely blog award. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're doing awesome on your revision. I'm getting so sick of mine (and the next revision pass I have to make) that I feel like curling into the fetal position and staying in bed. I can't write in the summer. Even with AC, the heat makes me numb and my brains goes to sleep. *snore* See you in the fall!
This summer is really getting to me too. I'm not sure why because usually I'm fine. Hang in there!
DeleteCongrats on the awards and all the other good stuff that's come your way lately. Yay for almost being done on #1.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Medeia. Have a great week!
DeleteCongratulations on your awards.
ReplyDeleteThis week, I'm doing my best to get back to my work in progress. I won't say I'm suffering writer's block because I am getting some writing done but it feels very forced at the moment. Feeling I may have to change tactic for a while and write the scenes in the novels as play scripts (that's what I do for a living) to get the ball rolling, then convert them back into prose later.
Have a great week.
I've actually focused on dialogue when I'm stuck and then gone back to insert the narration. Whatever works, right?
DeleteWow! You have so many awards... Keep going with the revision...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat!
DeleteYes, I'm really enjoying reading novels that have piled up!
ReplyDeleteThey do pile up, don't they? ;)
DeleteWhat a great week you are having! Congrats on the awards. Awesome to hear that your revisions on your WIP are going well! How exciting to be talking to your publisher! I am sure you feel good to be making a dent in your TBR list. :) Have a wonderful week! I am busy reading and writing.
ReplyDelete~Jess
Thanks, Jess. I hope you have a great week, too!
DeleteKelly,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the awards! I'm trying to get caught up on my reading as well but it's so hard to find the time. I only have at least 10 books on my list!! Ugh. But it's such fun when I finally find the time.
Only 10? I have so many!
DeleteSounds like you're having a fabulous time AND getting things accomplished! Yay for you!!! And congrats on all the good things. Looking forward the the MG series. :0)
ReplyDeleteThanks. The MG series won't be out until 2014. It so far away! I'm excited for it though. :)
DeleteCongratulations! I've nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. More info can be found here http://nettesbookshelf.blogspot.com/2012/07/versatile-blogger-awardyay.html
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Antonietta!
DeleteCongrats on the awards, and your series.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephanie. :)
DeleteCongrats on the awards. Ah, that TBR list. There just isn't enough time in the day, is there?
ReplyDeleteNo, there isn't.
DeleteGetting stuck writing something that I need to write, but the words just aren't there yet.
ReplyDeleteI've been there. I hope the words come to you soon.
