Monday Mishmash and More Blog Awards

Happy Monday! My mishmash of thoughts is short today because it includes two more blog awards.

  1. Revisions  I'm almost finished with this round of revisions on my WIP. Yay!
  2. Month9Books  I got to speak with Georgia McBride and Brittany Howard, two people from Month9Books, my amazing publisher for my MG series. I had a great conversation with them and am really excited to get to work on Curse of the Granville Fortune. :)
  3. Reading  I'm making a big effort to read more and get caught up on my TBR list. I feel like I might actually be making progress. Now if I could just stop adding more books to the pile. ;P
  4. Sisterhood of World Bloggers and Tell Me About Yourself Blog Award  I received these two awards from Michele Berger. Thanks, Michele. I'm supposed to tell you 7 things about myself, but I'm not sure there's anything left to tell. I'm kind of an open book. So, here are the 7 bloggers I'm passing the awards on to:

That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

    1. Katie, I don't know why but your comment showed up in my email instead of here. I really want to know why this happens sometimes. Blogger issue I guess.

I wish you lots of words on your WIP!

  4. I envy your speedy progress with your edits, impressive.

Yes, I might have a ghost of a chance to finish my TBR pile if I didn't keep adding more to it.

    1. I know, right? The TBR pile will never get smaller with all the great books coming out. That's a good thing though.

  5. Good luck with the rest of your edits. :)

I am working on my digital holiday short that will be released on November 1. Want to get a solid first draft done by the end of the week.

  6. Yay, Kelly! Good job with your WIP! I'm so glad you're leaping forward with your revisions.

As for my TBR list, it too grows longer and longer. I fear I'll never catch up!

Thanks so much for the awards!

  7. I feel you about the TBR list. I'm reading more than I used to but I keep buying books. I've gotten into the habit of reading two books at a time.

Thank you so much for the awards!

  9. Woot! Another award! :D

I've been doing a lot more reading these days as well. There just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day.

    Thanks, Kelly!

  10. Congrats on the award and I totally agree about the reading pile. It seems to keep growing!!

  11. Isn't that reading pile amazing? I can't look at it anymore, even my Kindle is crowded. I have to take time out and read up a storm.

Congrats on your award. You are gathering those up almost as fast as your TBR pile!

    1. I know. I'm pleasantly overwhelmed by all the awards I've been getting. :)

I'm reading more but it's still not helping this pile get smaller. Probably because I buy faster than I read. ;P

  12. Well, other than writing ABBA-eque type lyrics I am WRITING the next chapter in my WIP, PHEW. I am falling in love all over again with my characters. I printed out out what I had written and spent Saturday reading. At the end, I had the conversation with self, rewrote a chapter and felt that ole mojo bubbling inside of me and I was back on track. I love writing, it's like life in a bottle.

  18. Thanks for the lovely blog award. :-)
You're doing awesome on your revision. I'm getting so sick of mine (and the next revision pass I have to make) that I feel like curling into the fetal position and staying in bed. I can't write in the summer. Even with AC, the heat makes me numb and my brains goes to sleep. *snore* See you in the fall!

    1. This summer is really getting to me too. I'm not sure why because usually I'm fine. Hang in there!

  20. Congratulations on your awards.

This week, I'm doing my best to get back to my work in progress. I won't say I'm suffering writer's block because I am getting some writing done but it feels very forced at the moment. Feeling I may have to change tactic for a while and write the scenes in the novels as play scripts (that's what I do for a living) to get the ball rolling, then convert them back into prose later.

    Have a great week.

Congrats on the awards! I'm trying to get caught up on my reading as well but it's so hard to find the time. I only have at least 10 books on my list!! Ugh. But it's such fun when I finally find the time.
