Hadley my German shepherd puppy |
- Puppy So many people asked for pictures of my new puppy, Hadley, so here's one for you.
- Migraines I had a migraine on Friday into Saturday. It was so bad I was shaking and sick to my stomach. I really hate them.
- Lake or yard? There was a water leak that flooded my side yard. We had a lake. It's fixed now thankfully.
- Revising I'm slowly making my way through revisions. Last week was crazy. (See #3)
- TBR list I got ahead with my reviews for YA Bound so I'm trying to catch up on my TBR list by reading books that released within the last year.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

Hadley is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently fighting headache and trying to survive hot weather, way too hot for my taste.
I feel your pain. I've had so many headaches due to the heat. Hope you feel better!
DeleteYour puppy is adorable! I'm sorry to hear about your migraine and water leak, hope everything is going better! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm hoping this week is better.
DeleteUuuuuh, migraines. *shudders* Hope they stay away from you this week.
ReplyDeleteSo many good books have come out in the last year--even this spring/summer alone! What's at the top of your list?
Thanks!
DeleteWell, I just read BETRAYED by Ednah Walters and that's one of my favorites now. So good. I'm reading White Walls by Lauren Hammond. It's the sequel to Insanity, which I loved, so I have high hopes for it.
Thanks for the recommendations--I'll look those up!
DeleteYou're welcome. Enjoy!
DeleteGlad you got through that migraine, and the leak/lake fiasco. I hope you have a calmer week ahead =)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to focus this week on PB revisions before I let myself go back to my YA WIP.
Thanks, Ruth.
DeleteGood luck with those revisions.
Aw -- cute puppy! And Hadley is the name of one of the MC's love interests in my upcoming book!
ReplyDeleteOn my mind today? I'm driving to the Pocono Mountains for a small writing retreat, trying to get my head back into my WIP after a week of hosting house guests. I've got 2 days to myself. Then the family joins me. Wish me luck!
Good luck, Dianne! I've been struggling to get writing time with my family and Hadley around all the time. Not easy. I don't remember any summer being as tough as this one.
DeleteI noticed you have a character named Hadley. I think it was when you posted a teaser. My Hadley's a girl. I know it's a unisex name, though.
Hadley is adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm taking the day off from work!
Ooh, fun! Enjoy, Diane!
DeletePuppy is adorable. Migraines - not so much. I used to get them frequently - extra vitamin B complex helped. Going off the BC pill helped - with those two actions, I would get them 2-3 times a year, rather than 1-2 times a month. Getting older has helped.
ReplyDeleteI've always enjoyed going to lakes. Having them come to you - not so much fun. Here's to hoping your July ends on a less challenging note than it began.
Thanks, Beverly. I do take a vitamin B complex everyday. I keeps me pretty healthy. I haven't had a migraine in a while, so I can't complain too much.
DeleteYeah, a lake in my yard is no fun. It's coming back again, too, which means they haven't fixed the problem--at least not all of it. Ugh!
Sounds like something was telling you to slow down and take a break. Cute puppy pic.
ReplyDeleteToday I am getting back into my writing, having put the new website to bed (for now). I am halfway through a novel and halfway through a play. Not sure which one to pick up first. The play is for my business. The novel is for my heart. Hm. Decisions, decisions.
Have a better week.
Thanks, Fi. It it were me, I'd do the play first. I try to get to business stuff first and then get to my own stuff. Not always easy to do though.
DeleteHadley is soooo cute!! I'll bet he's adding to the craziness around the house. Puppies can do that. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm revising, too, and it's going s.l.o.w... There is so much to change, rearrange, and add that it's dizzying. But I'm getting there. I've had to stay hunkered down to avoid distraction, which means I don't get to visit blogs too much. :( I miss you guys!
Fingers crossed that your migraine is a thing of history!
Thanks, Tabitha. Hadley is adjusting nicely. She's making us all smile, too. :)
DeleteI hear you about slow revising. I'm in the same boat. Too many distractions this summer. I've never had this much trouble finding time to write. I hope you find some good chunks of revision time.
Adorable! Nothing cuter than a puppy! Enjoy him while you can. And sorry about the migraine. Hope you're feeling better. I'm going to be burrowing down in editing mode this week. Two different August deadlines to meet.
ReplyDeleteOoh, good luck, Stacy. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate.
DeleteKelly, you're the cat's meow and the puppy's bark. You keep going, migraine and all. You are powerful. I like your Monday lists if only to get a swift kick-start for mine.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you, Mirka. You make me sound stronger than I am. :)
DeleteHadley is adorable. Thanks for sharing the picture.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteVery cute puppy. I hope you are feeling better after what sounds like a migraine from hell.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm finally starting to feel human again, so that's a good sign.
DeleteLove the puppy! German Shepherds are AWESOME dogs.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the migraine. They are the worst things ever.
You're right! Having an unexpected lake in your yard CAN'T be conducive to calmness and tranquility, can it?
Hope this week is better for you. :-)
Thanks, Kat. I appreciate it.
DeleteCute puppy. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the migraine and lake. I hope you have a great week reading and writing, and also happy 4th.
Thank you, Medeia. Happy 4th to you, too!
DeleteI too have the occasional migraine, and they really suck! For me, there is no rhyme or reason for when they come on, but usually they end up screwing up some big plan! :)
ReplyDeleteSame here. Mine hit on my busiest day last week when I had to drive far, too. Ugh.
DeleteYour new puppy is adorable! Thanks for posting a picture. So sorry to hear about the migrane- I get them too and they are the worst. Hope you have a better week!!!
ReplyDelete~Jess
Thanks, Jess. Hey, are you the Fairday who commented on Judy's blog for my giveaway? If so, you won! We need your mailing address. You have my email, right? You can send it to me or to Judy. :)
DeleteHadley is so cute! Sorry to hear about your migraine. Glad your water leak was fixed. My parents basement used to flood whenever it rained hard. Hope this week goes better for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Auden. The water leak may be back already. Ugh! Still waiting on the verdict there, but hopefully the rest of my issues from last week are over.
DeleteSo sorry about your migraine, Kelly. I hope you are feeling better today.
ReplyDeleteCute puppy!
I'm feeling a lot better today. Thanks, Karen. :)
DeleteWhat an eventful week. Whew. There are certainly no floods (or new puppies) where I am, but I've had run-ins with migraines and revisions that won't die. I hope you feel better, keep the yard dry, and try not to stress out about that revision -- stress causes migraines.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the revision causing stress. It's the yard. I'm sure of it. This has been going on for a long time and they can't seem to fix the issue. It's already back after being fixed last Thursday. Ugh!
DeleteOh my gosh, love the puppy pic! Darling! And yucko to the migraine. Next time, try a stretch I devised for headaches. Lie flat on your back on the floor (legs/feet together) and put your hands on the back of your head (like with your elbows above your face) and pull up on your head slowly and gently for as long of a count as you can hold. Repeat. It gets blood circulating to the head and stretches tight muscles in the head and neck area. Lots of people tell me this stretch has really helped their migraines.
ReplyDeleteOoh, thank you! I will definitely try that next time. :)
Delete*squee* Your puppy is adorable. I know, I'm stating the obvious here. I have such dog envy! I hope you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Adrianne. Puppies are adorable. Everything they do it cute.
DeleteThanks for the update on puppy! He's growing, isn't he? I'm so lucky to have neighbors with several dogs. I just borrow one every once in a while when I need a trail companion. Love walking with dogs.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the migraine, Kelly. I can't imagine my head hurting so much it makes me sick to my stomach. Keep well.
Hadley is growing so fast! She's getting tall in just a week and a half.
DeleteYeah, migraines run in my family, unfortunately. They are awful!

ReplyDeleteCute puppy! Sorry to hear about the migrane. As for me? I'm in Istanbul! This is one cool city.
ReplyDeleteOoh, lucky you! Enjoy!
DeleteToo cute (puppy and not the headache).. I am drowning the day job work, oh woe is me. I opted not to post the first half of the week - holiday-- and I am finishing a short story.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for taking time for yourself. I need to learn to do that. I'm so busy taking care of everyone around me that I'm really not taking care of myself--hence, the migraine.
DeleteHadley won't stay that small for long!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had migraines; just the occasional sinus infection. I understand migraines are worse.
Migraines are killer. I hope I don't have another one any time soon.
DeleteWhat an adorable pup! I could just hug him/her all day! so sorry about the migraines. I get those too and they can put me down for quite a while.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the lake, too. How frustrating, but glad you are ahead on your reviews.
Thanks, Donna. Hadley's a girl. I didn't think to mention it because I figured the pink collar would show it, but it's hard to tell the collar is pink in that picture, isn't it? Oh well. :)
