Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick (Review)

Finale (Hush, Hush, #4)
Summary:
Nora is more certain than ever that she is in love with Patch. Fallen angel or no, he is the one for her. Her heritage and destiny may mean they are fated to be enemies, but there is no turning her back on him. Now Nora and Patch must gather their strength to face one last, perilous trial. Old enemies return, new enemies are made, and a friend's ultimate betrayal threatens the peace Patch and Nora so desperately want. The battle lines are drawn—but which sides are they on? And in the end, are there some obstacles even love can't conquer?

My thoughts:
I've been dying to read this book, yet I put it off because I didn't want this series to end. Hush, Hush is hands down my favorite YA series. I fell in love with Patch and Nora in book one and their relationship just gets stronger as the series progresses.
In Finale, Nora and Patch find themselves on opposite sides of a war, but if you've followed the series, you know they can overcome anything. Nora has to lead the Nephilim army in a war against fallen angels or she'll die since she swore an oath. Over the course of the book, she comes to side with the Nephilim, understanding that they are victims in this battle, and she truly wants to help them. Only she's hiding a big secret—or two. She killed their former leader and she's dating a fallen angel.
The twists in this book are amazing! As they were revealed, I thought, "I should've seen that coming!" But I didn't, which I love. I did predict something major that happened at the end, but I was okay with it because if it hadn't happened, it would've felt unrealistic to me.
I got teary when I finished the book because I don't want to say goodbye to Patch and Nora. This is definitely a series I'll read again and again.

Just for fun:
What's your favorite book about angels?

  1. I LOVE this series but I had mixed feelings about this one. I liked it but at the same it was very frustrating. I mostly cant believe we had 4 books and no 'action' between them two. Not that I have to read it but I would like to know it happens. You don't have time Nora? You MAKE time! Especially for a guy like Patch!
Anyway, I ended up liking it and was sad to see it end.

    1. I was very sad to see the series go. My favorite book was Crescendo, which Becca Fitzpatrick said was the most difficult for her to write. I couldn't put that one down. Oh, and I agree that you make time for someone like Patch! ;)

  2. I LOVED the first two books in this series! It's a shame I haven't gotten to order the third one, though. My favorite book about angels would be either between the Hush, Hush series, the Fallen series, or the new Sweet Evil Trilogy.

  3. I didn't fall in love with Book 1, so even though I own book 2, I haven't read it yet. Maybe I should...

My favorite angel series, by far, is Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Talk about turning the angel archetype on its head!

  7. Interesting premise. Haven't read a lot of angel-themed books. I'm halfway through Daughter of Smoke and Bone though.

  8. The cover is stunning. It reminds me of Wuthering Heights. I haven't read many angel stories. Oh, I did read Dauther of Smoke and Bone. This one sounds wonderful. Great review.

My favorite angel books are the Griffin Series. Waiting for the fourth one.

  13. Sometimes I read a book or watch a film with a twist in the near-ending, and I slap my forehead, thinking 'Should've seen that coming,' too. Sounds like a great series!

  16. I think this book is more for fans of Twilight... Not meaning anything mean about it I just found some things similar between the two.
