A Missing Peace Street Team Sign Up

A while back, I edited a manuscript for Beth Fred. I knew immediately that Beth had something great with this book. So I wasn't surprised that not only did it land her an agent, but it also got her a book contract.

I couldn't be happier for Beth, who has become a good friend of mine. So, I've joined her Street Team, and I'm asking you to consider doing the same. The book is called A Missing Peace. Everyone who participates will get an ebook of A Missing Peace and will also be entered to win a $10 Amazon GC. Why? Because Beth is just that awesome and it's her way of saying thanks.

Here's the blurb.

Angry, seventeen-year-old, Iraqi war refugee Mirriam Yohanna hates her new life in Killeen,Texas, where the main attraction is a military base, populated with spoiled army brats like Caleb Miller.
Caleb has much to be angry about himself, including Mirriam, when she turns him down flat in front of everyone. Eager for retribution, Caleb agrees to a dare that will see him take Mirriam to prom or lose even more face.
But there's more to their relationship than high school hijinks. Mirriam and Caleb are bound together by more than location, and as they are forced to work closely together on a school assignment, they start to uncover an explosive story that has the potential to ruin lives – and both of their futures. One single truth changes everything and strengthens their bond.
Not everyone is happy about their budding relationship. When Mirriam's family discover the affair, they decide it's time to arrange her marriage to a proper Iraqi man. Caleb must convince Mirriam that he is in it for forever – or risk losing her for good.

    1. Thanks William. You will start seeing around more in August. I don't have an official cover yet and just got the blurb so that's why it hasn't been around much yet.

  11. Nor my usual reading, but I filled out the form to be part of the trailer reveal, and this post gave me ideas on forming my own street team for my book, though in my case, the release window's farther into the horizon.

    I'm rooting for you, Beth.

    1. Thanks Taurean, and I think you'd be smart to start sooner. I didn't know what a street team could do for ebooks until pretty late into the process!

    3. Yes Beth I AM starting now, but it's hard to start pre-published marketing when you don't even have a release YEAR to shout out for your book (Or books in Kelly's case, and I know it was hard won, Kelly, just making a fair point).

Some things I just can't do until I get info from my publisher about release window (If not an exact date), cover reveals, and produce my own book trailer, etc.

At this point, I'm just trying to be more consistent on my blog to keep my presence out there and as current as possible.

I'd like to offer a free except of the book on my site, but until edits are near final (Still waiting on those edit notes...) I don't think that will help right now.

KElly, maybe you could do a blog post about ways to market and promote before you have certain particulars about your book finalized. I know other writers apart from me would be GRATEFUL for whatever tips we can get.

  12. Whew! That sounds explosive! TBR list. I wish I had time to help promote, but if I listed off all the balls I'm barely keeping in the air... Well, let's just say, I don't want to stress people out. ;)

  13. Wow! If I had my author site launched by now I'd love to participate in this. Nonetheless, what an incredible-sounding blurb. I will HAVE to pick up this book. Sounds great.
