Monday Mishmash 4/7/14

  1. Revising  I'm working on revisions for Perfect For You and Out of the Ashes this week. The first is off of editorial notes, and the second is a sequel under contract that I have to submit to my editor by the 15th.
  2. Editing  I'm also editing for clients, which always makes me happy.
  3. Family Expo  I had a blast at the Family Expo yesterday. It's always fun to talk to people about what I do for a living.
  4. Home Improvements  We are prepping for an addition and buying lighting and other fun stuff. I'm dreading the construction but really excited to have it finished.
  5. Prepping a Giveaway for The Monster Within  We're almost two months away from the release of The Monster Within. I'm planning a giveaway with a gift card and lots of goodies. :) Stay tuned!
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. The only thing on my mind this morning is my 8am-8pm workday: a full day of teaching, followed by several hours of parent conferences with only an hour break for dinner between.

At 8pm tonight I can say NEVER AGAIN, because this is my last year of teaching. I'm retiring at the end of this year. But this morning, that doesn't make me feel much better about today. :(

Congrats on your upcoming release! It's so exciting to see your newest baby totter out into the world!

    1. Yay for retiring, Dianne! Just chant, "I don't ever have to do this again!" all through conferences. :)

  2. Another busy week for you. Still working on my novel. Gaining some momentum at the moment so getting lots done. Having said that, next week and the week after are our Easter break so I shall have my monsters to amuse. Have a great week.

  6. We are on the tail end of a huge Kitchen renovation. I can honestly say, it was a lot more mentally exhausting than I thought. Good luck on your adventure into the fray of a new addition. I'm glad to be almost done. I can't take much more. The dirt, the chaos. The general mess and confusion. Twelve more days....just twelve. I can do this... :)

    1. Thanks, Courtney. Good luck! I'm looking at about a month of renovation and then months of finishing off the upstairs. Ugh.

  9. So excited for you. Great items here.

I like the idea of adding onto and fixing a home. We spend so much time there and we want to make it the best.

    1. We recently started doing things we've put off for years, like fixing our yard and putting in a pool. Every time we do something we wonder why we waited so long. Hence the addition. We're going for it so we can enjoy the house more.

  10. Another power-week begins!
The prospect of home improvements alone would take most of my emotional space. But then, maybe the best way to handle this is to be holed-up with writing work, and you have a lot going on there.

    1. True. I'm not sure when the construction will begin. The builder is coming today so hopefully we'll find out by tonight. Then I will be drowning myself in my work to avoid going insane from the remodeling. ;)
