Monday Mishmash 9/11/17

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Editing  I have three books to edit by the end of the month.
  2. Scholastic Book Fair  I'm helping out with the Scholastic Book Fair at my daughter's school this week.
  3. The Lost Island  Ayla finished writing her second book, and we are editing it now. I'm so proud of her for finishing this one. She found out how difficult it can be to write a sequel.
  4. Book Formatting  I have three books to format for a client this week.
  5. Writing Break  I had to take a break from my WIP because the next three months are crazy booked with client edits and filled with releases of my own.
  6. 9/11  Don't forget to take a moment today to remember those affected by 9/11. It's still a day I remember quite clearly.
  7. Weather  Lately, I feel like Mother Nature is out to get us. Hurricanes, earth quakes, fires, tornadoes... It's scary. Please stay safe wherever you are.
  8. Huge Giveaway this Wednesday!  On Tuesday, the authors of Hot and Sinful Nights are hosting a huge giveaway! You can win a Kindle Fire and tons of other prizes. Be sure to check back tomorrow to enter.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. I remember the book fairs at school and the monthly book-order forms from Scholastic as well.
I began working more on my diary novel set in the 1980s and am trying to find an editor for my memoir.
I still remember what I was doing the day of 9/11, and have a chapter in my memoir titled "Tragedy in 2001."

  2. It's great your daughter is writing! I have 2 kids that do so, and one that is publishing soon. Yes, the Earth is giving us a beating, we should take better care of it I guess. Seems like your year is booked up. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  3. Brilliant news about your daughter's writing.

My writing is on hold this week while I get things ready for our house move when it eventually happens.

  4. It's great that your daughter is working on a sequel!

I hope that everyone stays safe, too. I got back from Croatia a few days ago; they had some earthquakes recently, and though they were not bad enough to cause damage, it's unusual that they had them at all.

  5. Congrats to your daughter and her sequel.

As for me, it's the third week of school and I'm seriously considering the benefits of boarding school.

    Hope everyone stays safe.

  6. There's big business in formatting books, I noticed! I know if I wrote an e-book, I'd have to have help. I would have no idea what I was doing!

  7. I have never attempted a sequel, so a big BRAVA to Ayla!

  8. Like mother, like daughter. Congratulations to Ayla. And three edits by the end of the month. Good luck to you.
Our son had some flooding in South Carolina, but not too much. I'm thankful.
