Monday Mishmash 5/14/18

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Revising  I'm revising book two in my psychic mystery series so I can get it to my editor soon.
  2. #Cockygate  If you don't know about this, you're lucky. I'll be honest. I'm very upset about the state of the publishing industry over the past year and a half. This isn't the industry I came into in 2011, and it breaks my heart to see all the awful things happening in the book world.
  3. Lack of motivation  Motivation is never something I've struggled with until recently. See number two for the cause. I've been taking more time for myself lately to distance myself from what's going on in the book world.
  4. Mother's Day  I hope all you moms had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.
  5. Editing  I have a small gap in my editing schedule, so if you need anything edited, check out the services I offer here.
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

I hear ya on #cockygate. I really hope it gets resolved soon. Someone shared a link to a petition that had an update saying that a lawyer had filed to undo the TM. I hope that’s true.

Mother’s Day was nice - I got a good breakfast and a totally awesome dinner, and some nic gifts. I hope yours was good!

I’m also working through the Paper Hearts workbook by Beth Revis. It’s a workbook designed to go with her Paper Hearts series - three books about writing, publishing, and marketing. So far, I like it!

    1. My Mother's Day was nice. My daughter bought me some really sweet gifts that she picked out and paid for all on her own. She loves giving people gifts.

I'm glad you're enjoying the workbook.

  3. I've just completed another chapter in my diary novel and I'm trying to decide how to reach the conclusion.

  4. I've heard about that cockygate matter. That's one author who deserves what karma is eventually going to have in store for them.

    1. Yeah, I just don't understand what she was thinking.

  5. Now I will go search as to what #Cockygate is, and likely manage to be upset with you... But you're one of the good ones, Kelly. So take heart.

  6. I am still baffled by the whole cockygate. I can't understand why someone would apply to own a word like that and how it could have been approved.

Glad you are taking time for yourself. Very important.
