Kreativ Blogger Award

I was given the Kreativ Blogger Award by The Muse over at The Writer Shade of Pale. Thanks so much!

Now I get to share 10 things about myself and pass this award on to 6 other deserving blogs. So, here we go!

  1. I'm afraid of snakes, but I purposely seek them out because I need to know where they are (so I can be somewhere else!).
  2. The day after I got married, I went to work and told my students, "By the way you call me Mrs. Hashway now." They were a little surprised. ;)
  3. The first short story I ever sold made me a whopping $2 and I'm proud of it. :)
  4. I wrote my last manuscript in 12 days and my agent told me I nailed it. I can't write slowly or it comes out terribly!
  5. In high school, I dated the quarterback of the football team. No I was not a cheerleader. I played tennis.
  6. I jumped out of a plane at 10,000 feet and almost choked to death on my helmet strap. (I'd skydive again though!)
  7. My favorite number is 8 because it's the same upside-down. (It's also the day I was born.)
  8. I cry when I watch movies adapted from books because my dream is to one day have one of my books made into a movie.
  9. I used to be able to run a 5K race in 18 minutes.
  10. My nails grow ridiculously fast. People usually assume they're fake.
Okay, now for the 6 blogs I'm passing the award on to:

Be sure to check out these great blogs, and as always, share a blog you love so we can all follow.

    1. You know, skydiving isn't as scary as you'd think. I did go on Halloween though. LOL. For some reason I wasn't all that afraid of literally falling out of a plane at 10,000 feet. It was very calm up there.

      Thanks!

    1. LOL. I thought it was funny, too. Some people thought it was insane. We didn't do the whole big wedding thing though. We decided we wanted to use that money for other things instead. We just had immediate family and then threw a big party a week later. So much fun!

    1. Thanks. Yeah, my husband and I still laugh about that, and when I run into my former students they all say, "Remember when you told us you got married the day before?" It makes for a good laugh. :D

  7. Congratulations on the neat award. Your answers are great, especially the one about the snake. Staying away from them is the smart thing to do. And never, ever let them get in your house. :)

    1. It's really not as bad as you'd think. The being strangled by my helmet part was scary, but once they pulled the parachute, it was a blast. I wasn't being strangled anymore and I could enjoy the scenery and even do little spins while steering. Lots of fun.

    1. Thanks! Having fast growing nails is good and bad. Good because when one breaks, it grows back quickly, but bad because I hate having to constantly file them. I'm sure you know what I mean.

  15. I am stunned at the 12 days thing. I am still trudging along. I should start writing fiction!

    1. LOL. 12 days was a personal best. The manuscript I just finished took three weeks because it was the final one in a trilogy and I had to keep going back and referencing things in the first two books to make sure all my info was accurate. Time consuming but definitely worth it in the end.

It's not about speed though. I just tend to write better when I write the book more quickly. It flows better for me.

I also hate snakes. And I was raised in Africa. In the bush. It was a troubled childhood:)

My first short story maed me the proud sum of ... nothing? The glow of being published was supposed to be payment enough ... which it kind've was!

Can't wait to check out these blogs!
