Monday Mishmash 8/6/18

Happy Monday! Monday Mishmash is a weekly meme dedicated to sharing what's on your mind. Feel free to grab the button and post your own Mishmash.

Here's what's on my mind today:
  1. Editing  I'm editing for a new client this week.
  2. Cozy Mystery Giveaway  I'm banding together with some other cozy mystery authors to host a giveaway for Wedding Cake Crumble by Jenn McKinlay. You can enter here
  3. Water issues  This has been the summer of water issues. I'm hoping to have them all finally fixed this week. Fingers crossed.
  4. Publishing schedule  I was going to release my Love Chronicles boxed set at the beginning of this month, but life has been crazy. I might have it ready by the end of the month, but I'm not going to stress to get it out. I'm slowly learning not to kill myself for the sake of getting books published by certain dates.
  5. Three weeks left in my summer schedule  My daughter starts school in three weeks, so I'm still on summer hours until then, but this school year, my working hours will increase since the school day is going from six hours to eight!
That's it for me. What's on your mind today?

  1. I hope that the water issue gets fixed, and that the fix lasts, too!

And I agree, your health is much more important than getting books published by certain dates.

Around these parts, it's so hot we can't sleep properly. The only good thing about it is that I woke up early and got notified that The Writing Cooperative (a Medium publication) accepted 3 articles I wrote.

    1. I "think" all the water issues are now fixed. LOL

We've been getting a ton of rain with tiny bits of sunshine. We take full advantage of those tiny bits.

  2. I too, hope your water gets fixed.

Like where angel lives, it get so hot where I live, too, and I can barely sleep and have been trying not to fall asleep during the day. I did some more editing of my memoir on Saturday, so perhaps that kept me awake then.

  3. Hi Kelly - I too hope the water issues get sorted out ... leaving the last couple of weeks freeish for you all to enjoy yourselves. Gosh an extra two hours - that'll be worth so much ... enjoy and cheers for now - Hilary

  4. I've learned that my schedules often have to be changed. It used to bother me, but now I just go with the flow, as they say.
Water problems are no fun. Been there. Hope yours are all resolved soon. Have a great week.

  5. I'm learning the same thing lately about not breaking my neck to get things done. It's so tough to break that habit but I swear I get more done in the long run when I'm not overloading myself.

  6. The school day is going from 6 to 8. WOW! That's a long day for kids.

Glad you are learning to not stress about publishing dates. :) Sometimes life is crazy! Good luck.

  7. Despite many watershed matters you remained, as always, productive. So a change in schedule is probably a good sign that you can go with the flow. (Pun intended, and Hopefully, not much more flow...)
